Drusilla nodded in understanding when she heard Blythe's update, “And them?”
“I had to talk their ears off, but they’re finally off to school! They promised to let you meet them.” Blythe glanced at Drusilla, “Aren’t you going to change? As the mother of those two boys, you ought to present yourself a bit more... dignified. Maybe it’s because the boys aren’t your own. I bet if they were, you wouldn’t be so nonchalant!”
Drusilla’s face fell at Blythe’s words.
She admitted to herself that she had been in a foul mood last night, and she was in the wrong!
How could she, for the sake of a man, forget something as important as Colton and Cormac’s performance today?
“I’ll go change,” she said.
Heading upstairs, she picked out an outfit from her wardrobe. Noticing that Enoch hadn’t come home to sleep last night, she shrugged it off – it wasn’t her concern anymore.
Once she was ready, she found Blythe had the car waiting for them outside.
They drove straight to the venue.
The boys had gone to their preschool first, from where a school bus would take them to the venue.
The event was a grand affair, sponsored by the Larkin Group. It was to be broadcast live online and on television, featuring not just the kids’ performances but also a lineup of A-list celebrities.
…
Stepping out of the car with Blythe, they were immediately greeted, “Madam.”
