He was closely followed by Oberon, who, upon seeing her with Serge, politely greeted, "Dr. Denton, ma'am."
Despite his courteous greeting, Oberon was internally panicking.
Oh, great!
He couldn't fathom what was going through Drusilla's mind, knowing full well Mr. Taylor couldn't stand the sight of her with Oberon, yet she deliberately irked him.
And there he was, merely standing by Enoch's side, already feeling the chilly tension in the room.
Luckily, the atmosphere lightened up a bit when Cormac excitedly ran over to Enoch, exclaiming, "Daddy!"
Cormac's presence instantly made things a bit less tense.
Holding onto Enoch's hand, Cormac asked, "Dad, did you see me dance today?"
Looking at his son, who was the spitting image of an angel, Enoch replied, "I did!"
"And? Did you think I was awesome?" Cormac beamed with joy.
Enoch nodded, "Yeah."
"Daddy," Cormac continued, "I've missed you so much! Were you busy today?"
"Not too much," Enoch, now fully captivated by his son, managed to say, his attention completely stolen by the little guy.
Serge came over, greeting Enoch, "Man, Mr. Taylor, I'm so jealous! You've got two incredibly sweet sons!"
Enoch coldly glanced at Serge, "Was that necessary?"
Right now, Serge was the last person Enoch wanted to see.
Despite being close for years, Enoch felt Serge was always up to no good, especially with eyes for Drusilla.
Thinking about someone hitting on his wife, what kind of friend was that?
Serge, hearing his cold tone, retorted, "What's with the attitude? I was just about to invite you out for a meal! And this is how you treat me?"
It was a pity that Enoch couldn't see how much Serge actually cared about his family.
