Once Odette had left, Drusilla couldn't quite believe it. No way would she stand by and watch her father's company crumble into bankruptcy.
Drusilla was about to speak when Leander turned to Hestia and said, "I've made it clear, Drusilla isn't going back there. Even if she wanted to, I wouldn't allow it."
There was no doubt in Leander's voice. He meant every word.
Drusilla could sense it too. Her father was serious—she wasn't going back to the Taylor family anytime soon.
Thinking about it brought Enoch to her mind. His attitude before she left...
If she didn't go back, it would be a mess.
But she held her tongue in front of Hestia.
...
After dinner, Drusilla calmly went upstairs to rest. Hestia watched her, realizing she was genuinely planning to settle in. Worry etched across her face.
If Drusilla was really staying, what would become of the Lawson family? Would they actually go bankrupt?
Pacing the hallway, anxiety gnawed at Hestia. She wanted to talk Drusilla into returning to the Taylor family but didn't know how.
Drusilla, observing Hestia's helpless demeanor, found it amusing.
...
After a short rest, as it got closer to the time Colton and Cormac would be done with school, Drusilla got up and headed out.
Spotting Hestia, she greeted her, "Hestia, what's up?"
Seeing Drusilla engage, Hestia hurried over, "Drusilla, are you really not going back to the Taylor family?"
No mother would turn down something for her children, and Hestia was counting on Drusilla being no different.
Drusilla considered Hestia’s words, "Alright."
She had intended to return to the Taylor family anyway, but now she was gaining a house in the bargain.
Relieved, Hestia exhaled, "It's settled then. As for your dad... you'll talk to him?"
"Got it," Drusilla replied. "I'll be waiting for the house."
"Of course," Hestia assured.
Watching Drusilla agree so eagerly, Hestia inwardly sneered. How naive... just one house, and she was sold!
As long as the Lawson family could secure their place with the Taylors and deal with Enoch, avoiding bankruptcy, everything would be worth far more than a single property. Even if she did have a fondness for that Nordragon house, securing Drusilla’s return to manage the crisis was a price she was willing to pay.
