Twins - The Unforeseen Legacy of My Ex's Uncle-in-Law novel Chapter 373

Enoch asked, "How's Lilith doing? Is she feeling any better?"

He hadn't made it to the hospital yesterday.

His mobility wasn't great, and it just wasn't convenient for him to go.

Blythe let out a sigh, "She's been crying non-stop. She was so looking forward to this baby, and now that it's gone, she's in a really bad place."

This whole situation was hard on Blythe too.

Drusilla stood nearby, listening to the family discuss Lilith's situation, keeping her thoughts to herself.

She was about to turn and leave when she heard Enoch call out, "Come here."

Despite their arguments, Enoch was always polite to her in front of others.

Drusilla walked over at his request and took a seat beside him.

She was supposed to help with breakfast for the twins anyway.

As she sat there, making sure the kids ate their pancakes and scrambled eggs, she could feel Kendrick's gaze lingering on her.

Eating with someone you considered an adversary was never pleasant.

However...

Reflecting on last night's events, Drusilla wondered if saying anything would even make a difference.

Kendrick wasn't like Lilith.

He was Enoch's older brother and had solid relationships with everyone in the Taylor family.

In this household, no one would turn against Kendrick for her sake—and she wasn't naive enough to think otherwise.

Kendrick carried on with the topic of Lilith, "Enoch, Mom and I talked it over and we think Lilith should come back home. Given her current state, I don't want her staying with the Stantons."

Having grown up practically in Kendrick's shadow, Enoch knew exactly what his brother was hinting at.

He responded, "Big brother, I don't have any issues with Lilith. Sometimes I'm tough on her because I want what's best for her. Harlan isn't a good influence, and I'm sure you know that. She's completely under his sway right now."

When Enoch brought up Harlan, Kendrick couldn't disagree.

He nodded, "Yeah, I know you're looking out for her. Lilith’s been spoiled by us, and I couldn't stop her from being with Harlan even if I tried. Ideally, I'd want them to split too, but given her current situation, I can't push her too hard."

Talking about Harlan always stirred up Kendrick's frustration.

At the moment, the two people he detested most were Harlan and Drusilla, which is why he'd slapped Harlan the day before.

But... given the marriage ties between him and Lilith, he couldn't go too far.

Kendrick added, "However... since yesterday, she hasn't spoken to Harlan. I think she's starting to realize the consequences. Just don't be too harsh on her."
