Twins - The Unforeseen Legacy of My Ex's Uncle-in-Law novel Chapter 374

Enoch raised an eyebrow, genuinely surprised. "Really? I didn't see that coming."

Kendrick nodded, a smirk on his face. "Yeah, she never used to listen to a word I said. But now that she's seen what Harlan's really up to, she's finally wised up. Though, I have to say, we owe a bit of thanks to your sister-in-law here."

He shifted the conversation towards Drusilla, who was busy helping Colton with some mashed potatoes. Hearing her name, Drusilla paused, a fork hanging in mid-air.

Before she could say anything, Kendrick continued, "If it weren't for Lilith catching Harlan cozying up to her Aunt Drusilla, she'd probably still be in the dark about him."

Enoch shot a glance at Drusilla, taken aback. Blythe, sitting across the table, clearly wasn't pleased with the turn the conversation had taken.

Kendrick sighed, leaning back in his chair. "Enoch, I know family means everything to you. But when it comes to matters of the heart, you could use a bit more discernment. I bet Drusilla hasn't even mentioned any of this to you."

Drusilla clenched her fists, frustration bubbling just below the surface. If Kendrick kept twisting the story like this, how could she possibly defend herself?

"Mr. Larkin," Drusilla said, her voice steady despite her irritation, "I barely exchanged a couple of words with Harlan yesterday. Don't make it sound like there's more to it. I'm sorry about your daughter's situation, but putting all the blame on me is just unfair."

Kendrick scoffed. "Unfair? I don't think so. I only just found out Ms. Lawson here is Odette's sister. We all know what the Lawson family is like! The way your sister treated Enoch back then... Enoch only married you because of Grandpa's wishes. But do you really think you're worthy of him?"

"Whether I am or not, that's between Enoch and me," Drusilla replied, her voice growing firmer. "Maybe you should focus on your daughter and her husband. They're the ones not wanting to make things work."

His words were dripping with satisfaction.

Drusilla placed her fork down, standing up from the table. "It’s not that simple, Kendrick. Maybe you should talk some sense into your brother."

She turned to her kids, "Colton, Cormac, let's go."

The boys looked up, their plates still half-full, and quickly scrambled to their feet.

Blythe, seeing the tension escalate, tried to defuse it. "Wait, the kids haven't finished their dinner! Why are you rushing them off?"
