As Leander noticed Drusilla sitting quietly to the side, he asked, "Is something up with the Taylors? Did they give you a hard time? By the way, Saskia popped by yesterday talking about some kid stuff. What's that about?"
Drusilla had already told him it wasn't her doing.
But...what if Saskia's pointing fingers at her causes trouble with the Taylors?
Drusilla shrugged, "It's nothing!"
She didn't want to bring up Kendrick. If she did, her dad would definitely worry even more.
...
After chatting a bit with her dad, Drusilla's phone buzzed. It was Serge. "Where are you right now?" he asked.
She had mentioned visiting him yesterday, and now he was planning to come over.
"Are you seriously coming to see me?" Drusilla replied.
"Just thought I'd drop by," Serge said. "Are you at the Taylors' place?"
"Nope, I'm back home," Drusilla replied. "No need to come over."
"The Lawsons', right?"
"Yeah."
Before long, Drusilla heard a car pulling up outside.
She opened the door, surprised to see Serge standing there. She had no idea how he'd managed to find her.
Seeing him, she exclaimed, "Dr. Denton!"
"Who's that?" Leander asked, walking out with a bandage on his head.
Serge greeted him politely, "Hello, Mr. Lawson."
Drusilla introduced them, "This is Dr. Denton, a senior from my days at Creston University."
Leander's demeanor softened, "Nice to meet you."
Serge was invited in by Drusilla's father, who was a fair man and believed in hospitality. Serge seemed like a decent guy too.
Once inside, Serge offered to help Leander with his bandages.
He was a pro, and the bandaging looked way better than what Hestia had done the day before.
"Thanks a lot, Dr. Denton." Leander got up. "You came to see Drusilla, right? You two chat, I'll take a little rest."
He had a good impression of Serge, found him humble, and much more likable than Enoch.
He left the room, giving them some space.
...
Once Leander was gone, Serge turned to Drusilla and asked, "Are you seriously going through with the divorce from Enoch?"
"Of course, I am," Drusilla replied. "But Enoch's not on board. He wants me to wait until he's sorted things out before we split."
"You haven't told him about the baby, have you?" If Enoch knew, he might not be so eager for the divorce.
"I don't want to tell him," Drusilla said. "I just want to move on. It's better if I don't bring it up."
Serge asked, "What's your reason?"
"Hmm?"
"If you're set on getting divorced, there must be a compelling reason, right?"
