Twins - The Unforeseen Legacy of My Ex's Uncle-in-Law novel Chapter 86

Oberon thought, “If it wasn't for Drusilla, Mr. Taylor's leg would still be without hope! And last night, Drusilla was right there, staying by Mr. Taylor's side. Then these two show up, bad-mouthing Drusilla right off the bat. It was irritating to even watch.”

Oberon felt like if they didn't leave soon, he’d lose his temper, even if Enoch didn’t.

Lilith and Harlan stepped out of the hospital room, Harlan looking particularly pleased with himself, and bumped right into Drusilla at the door.

Seeing Drusilla, a look of surprise crossed Lilith’s face. “I can’t believe you have the nerve to show up.”

After the mess that had happened, this woman hadn’t hidden away but dared to appear here. She must have a death wish.

Harlan’s eyes gleamed with a sort of malicious glee upon seeing her.

Drusilla, unfazed, simply said, “I came to check on Enoch.”

Lilith retorted, “After what you did to Uncle Enoch, causing him being sent straight to the hospital in the middle of the night, and you still dare to visit? You’d better stay away, lest you anger him to death.”

Drusilla glanced at Lilith and replied, “If something truly happened, I would take responsibility. Miss Larkin, you need not worry on my behalf.”

Lilith scoffed, “Take responsibility? How can you possibly do that? Uncle Enoch is a man of high standing. What could you offer? Dr. Lawson, what do you take the Taylor family for? Do you realize that you can’t even begin to compensate for your actions?”

Drusilla knew Lilith was just looking for an excuse to drive her away, seizing the opportunity to stir trouble.

Looking at Lilith, she said, “Even if Enoch is in trouble, I’m still your Aunt-in-law. It's not your place to speak to me like this.”

Lilith was momentarily taken aback, not used to being talked back to. But seeing Drusilla just irritated her to no end.

Drusilla said, “Since when is it your place to meddle in your Uncle’s affairs? Did he say he didn’t want to see me?”

“He doesn’t need to say anything. I can deal with this for him.”

Drusilla asked, “Have you considered how your Uncle would feel about this?”

Lilith replied, “I’m just getting rid of some nuisances for him. What’s he going to do? Scold me for dealing with someone like you? I’ve been by his side since I was a child. Uncle Enoch adores me the most. You don’t really think you can get the better of me, do you?”

Drusilla raised an eyebrow, gave her a look, and smiled, “Lilith, let me give you some advice: don’t overstep. It might just backfire on you.”

Lilith watched her as she said, “Uncle Enoch is lying in the hospital bed, and you can still laugh? You truly are heartless!”
