Chapter 661
“Do
you think Xavier will be devastated and furious when he finds out Josephine lied to him? Could that be why he wants to help you win the lawsuit?”
Aveline said flatly, “I can’t be bothered to guess what he’s feeling or thinking.”
“He brought it on himself, getting tricked by Josephine.”
Fiona sighed, “Aveline, you’re pretty ruthless. A man you loved for years, you just dropped him like that. A relationship of several years, you just let it go.”
Aveline was silent for a moment, then replied in a low voice, “Fiona, you have no idea what it felt like on my birthday, seeing Xavier walk out of the presidential suite in a bathrobe, and then hearing Josephine’s voice from inside the room.”
It was agonizing.
Fiona sighed again, “But the security footage showed it was a misunderstanding.”
Aveline replied, “Even though the security footage from the Beltran Hotel didn’t show him and Josephine having a secret meeting there, that doesn’t mean they didn’t meet secretly somewhere else.”
“My mom was once completely fooled by Jacob. I won’t go down that same path. Just in case, I have to divorce Xavier.”
“Besides, he bought Josephine a villa in Sunset Glow Estates.”
Fiona hugged Aveline and patted her on the back. “It’s for the best. If I were you, I couldn’t forgive that bastard Xavier so easily either.”
Jasmine’s car pulled in. The three of them met up and went into the club to find Sebastian.
They entered the private dining room that Sebastian had booked, surprised to find someone else inside: Jason.
Jason stood up. “Sister–in–law.”
Aveline frowned slightly. She wanted to tell him not to call her sister–in–law, but figured Jason might not know she’d filed for divorce. It would be too much to explain, so she let it go.

She just replied coolly, “Oh, you’re here too.

Sebastian smiled, “I just ran into Jason. He said he wanted to play a few games with me.‘
Jason explained, “I came with my older sister, but her group was all women. It’s no fun winning like that. Then I ran into Sebastian, and he said he was the only guy over here, so I joined him.”
Hearing him mention his “older sister,” Aveline guessed he meant Leona. She said, “That’s perfect. You and Sebastian can play, and Fiona and Jasmine can pair up.”
Jason looked at her. “Aren’t you playing?”
“I’m not feeling well today, so I’ll sit this one out.”
Sebastian quickly asked, “Are you okay?
Fiona said you agreed to play tennis, so I thought you were feeling better.”
Aveline replied, “It’s nothing serious, just a little under the weather. You guys go ahead and play. I’ll watch from the sidelines.”
Fiona spoke up, “Alright, enough talk. Let’s head to the court.”
So the group left the private dining room and headed toward the court.
Jason and Sebastian were behind the three women when Jason’s phone buzzed. It was a text from
Leona.
[Where did you go? I don’t see you.]
Jason replied, [I ran into Sebastian. Your side is all women, so I’m playing with him.]
Leona: [Sebastian?]
Jason: [Yeah.]
Leona: [What are you doing? That young lady came for you. Why did you run off?]
[She doesn’t know how to play tennis, so it’s a perfect chance for you to teach her.]
[Jason, she’s so pretty, comes from a good family, and has a great personality. Don’t tell me you’re not interested.]
Jason: [If I had known this was why you asked me to come, I wouldn’t have.]
Leona: [You’re not getting any younger. Your mom and dad are so worried they can’t eat or sleep

properly.]
[Anyway, just give it a try and get to know her.]
Jason: [I’m just going to play with Sebastian.]
Leona: [Hmph, are there pretty girls on Sebastian’s side too?]

Jason glanced at the back of Aveline walking ahead of him, thought for a moment, and replied to
Leona,
[Aveline is here, along with Laura and Aveline’s classmate, Jasmine.]
Leona was startled. [Aveline is here?]
Jason didn’t reply and put his phone in his pocket.
Sebastian had booked two adjacent courts. Leona must have booked one on the other side, so they didn’t run into each other.
Aveline thought it was good they didn’t meet. Just seeing that person ruined her mood.
She sat by the court watching the game and sipping juice. Her phone on the table rang, and she picked it up. It was a text from Brielle.

When is the novel ending? It’s so unnecessarily long… not a single intimacy or connection just fighting and bickering from the beginning to end...
