Brielle guessed the water bottle must be Aveline’s, which was why Xavier would pick it up and drink from it.

Josephine froze, thinking to herself that Leona was wrong. Xavier was perfectly capable of embarrassing her in front of so many people.

She gritted her teeth and turned back to Leona.

Leona and Jane naturally saw what happened. Jane was gloating, while Leona frowned.

Josephine came back, put the water bottle on the table with a stiff face, and Leona went over and put an arm around her shoulder.

At the entrance to the children’s playground, he looked inside and saw Aveline sitting by the window reading a book, while Valentina and a few other kids were playing by the slide.

The sunlight from outside the window spilled onto Aveline, making her look as radiant as jade, as beautiful as a painting.

Xavier didn’t go in, just stood at the entrance quietly watching Aveline.

After a moment, Valentina happened to see him and immediately ran over. “Uncle.”

Aveline heard her call and looked up to see what was happening.

“Uncle, if someone said I was pretty, I’d get shy too.”

Xavier laughed. “You, you little rascal, you get shy?”

Valentina giggled.

Xavier took long strides and quickly caught up to Aveline. “Everyone’s in the private dining room Sebastian booked. I don’t know where it is, you lead the way.”

Aveline still didn’t speak, just kept walking.
