Chapter 681
Aveline ignored her and washed her hands.
Just then, a middle–aged woman walked into the restroom and looked over at them.
Josephine immediately said, “You turn on one faucet and don’t turn it off, then run to the other side to turn on another, just letting the water run. Sis, you can’t do that.”
Aveline laughed. “Is there something wrong with your head? Making up stories and calling random people your sister.”
The middle–aged woman found it strange and quickly went into a stall, not wanting to get involved.
Aveline coolly pulled out a paper towel to dry her hands.
Josephine walked over to her, leaned in close, and said, “I slept with Xav. I asked him to take responsibility, but he won’t.”
Aveline kept her eyes down, drying her hands, looking completely unfazed. Then she threw the paper towel into the trash can and said as she walked out:
“Is that so? You’re pathetic. You could’ve learned anything, but you learned how to be the other woman from your mom.”
Josephine glared at Aveline’s back with a sinister look on her face. “He’s such a ruthless person. You won’t have a good end either.”
Aveline ignored her and walked out of the restroom.
Chapter 1
In the hallway. Xavier was looking toward the restroom door, with Valentina standing beside him, bored.
When she saw Aveline come out, Valentina quickly ran over to take her hand.
Aveline took her hand and walked toward the private dining room, ignoring Xavier.
Xavier studied her expression. It was cold and indifferent. He didn’t know if Josephine had said something in the restroom to make her angry again.
With Valentina right there, he couldn’t very well ask for details.
The three of them returned to the private dining room together and sat down in their respective seats.
Leona looked at Xavier. “Where’s Josie? Didn’t she come back with
you?”
Xavier gave her a cold, dark glance from his black eyes, said nothing. and picked up his cup to drink tea.
His cold attitude was obvious, but Leona wasn’t ready to give up. She continued, “She went out with you. You’re back, so where did she go?”
Just then, Valentina spoke up. “Josie is in the restroom.”
Brielle could see that Leona was trying to give Xavier a hard time. Xavier, considering everyone present, was giving his older sister some face by not saying anything, but Leona was relentless. Brielle was afraid Xavier was about to lose his temper.
So when a child like Valentina spoke up, it eased the tension. Brielle, afraid she might say more, quickly added:

“Josie is in the restroom, huh? Okay, we know. She’ll be back in a bit.”
Leona glanced at Brielle, naturally understanding that she was trying to defuse the stalemate between her and Xavier. With a sullen face, she looked away.
Leona had originally intended to force Xavier to say something, to make his position clear, no matter what.
Jane’s gaze shifted between the three of them, sensing something was strange, that there had to be some shocking story behind it all.
The two men, Jason and Sebastian, acted like it had nothing to do with them. They happened to be sitting together, talking about a project.
When Fiona and Jasmine saw Aveline, Valentina, and Xavier come back together, they didn’t think much of it at first, figuring it was just a coincidence. But after hearing what Leona said, they thought it was
strange.
The two of them looked at Aveline with concern. Fiona leaned closer and whispered, “Something wrong?”
Aveline answered her calmly, “We’ll talk later.”
That meant something really was wrong. Fiona and Jasmine exchanged a look.
They knew it. With Josie following Xavier out, something was bound to happen.
Just then, the door to the private dining room opened and Josie returned. Everyone except for Aveline and Valentina looked toward her.
Josie’s eyes were red, as if she had been crying.
Chapter 681
As soon as she sat down, Leona immediately asked her, “What’s wrong? Were you crying?”

Leona didn’t even lower her voice, intentionally speaking at a normal volume, clearly wanting everyone in the private dining room to hear.
Josie gave a bitter smile and said, “It’s nothing. I just got sand in my eye.”
Leona frowned. “Where would you get sand in your eye indoors?”
As she said this, she deliberately glanced over at Xavier.
Xavier was looking down, getting some food with his fork, and didn’t notice Leona’s stare.

When is the novel ending? It’s so unnecessarily long… not a single intimacy or connection just fighting and bickering from the beginning to end...
