“It appears that way. They left quite late, and Josephine drove off in Alex’s car,” came the reply, laced with a hint of disbelief.

Xavier’s mind raced, recalling the previous encounters. “Just the other day, I saw Josephine and Marjorie at the Velvet Club. After Alex showed up, Josephine abandoned Marjorie and slipped into a private dining room with him. And then, she left in his car,” he recounted, a smirk creeping onto his face.

He couldn’t help but chuckle, “Are those two really getting involved with each other?”

“Keep digging, Xavier. See what more you can uncover,” his companion encouraged, a glint of mischief in their eyes.

“Alright, Mr. Beltran,” Xavier replied, his curiosity piqued.

“By the way, did Michelle actually return to Kralville?”

“No, she’s still in Entora,” came the answer, but it sparked a memory in Xavier’s mind.

He recalled how his uncle and aunt had mentioned waiting for Jason to return from Kralville before heading to Mount Ardwood to meet with them.

“Make sure they keep a vigilant eye out. I want to know if Michelle meets anyone from our family,” he instructed, his voice taking on a serious tone.

Amy nodded, fully aware that when Xavier referred to “family,” he meant Jonathan’s side.

At that moment, Jacob burst into the house like a storm, his face twisted with rage. Spotting Courtney and Josephine, the mother and daughter duo sitting in the living room, he erupted, “Damn it, I’m so furious! That girl actually filed a lawsuit to split her mother’s inheritance with me!”

Courtney’s heart sank, instantly realizing he meant Aveline. “She filed a lawsuit?” she gasped, disbelief etched on her face.

Jacob slammed a stack of papers onto the coffee table with enough force to make them flutter. “Look at this! Damn it, I need to hire a competent lawyer!”

“Gerald. Josie, hurry up and get Gerald on the phone for me,” he demanded, his frustration palpable.

Courtney picked up the legal documents, her eyes scanning the text. Aveline had indeed taken legal action against Jacob, accusing him of transferring marital assets to her and demanding their return.

Josephine frowned, her brow furrowing in concern. “Gerald won’t even take Mom’s case; how could he possibly take yours?”
