Urging Him to Get a Divorce (Aveline and Xavier) novel Chapter 760

**A Divorce 760**

Brielle smiled softly, her gaze drifting toward the window as she replied, “We’re doing really well. If Uncle’s family, along with our older sister and brother-in-law, come over tomorrow, we’ll have more than enough space.” The thought of family gathered together brought a warmth to her heart, a comforting image of laughter and shared stories.

Patrick raised an eyebrow, his expression shifting slightly as he said, “If Gerald decides to come over, he’ll need to stay next door.” The implication hung in the air, a hint of tension threading through the conversation.

Xavier’s dark eyes narrowed, a flicker of concern crossing his face. “He’s coming over?” The tone of his voice suggested that he was not entirely pleased with the idea.

“He just called me,” Patrick explained, running a hand through his hair. “I mentioned I was here and asked if he wanted to hang out for a few days. He didn’t say much, so I can’t tell if he’s really coming or not.” There was a slight edge to his voice, a hint of frustration at the uncertainty.

“What’s going on between you and Gerald lately? I can sense he’s not too pleased with you,” Xavier probed, his curiosity piqued.

Patrick sighed, his shoulders slumping slightly. “He’s being an idiot, and I can’t seem to talk any sense into him. You’re his older brother; you should have a word with him. Tell him to be careful not to fall for some woman’s tricks.” The concern for his brother was evident, mingling with a sense of helplessness.

“You guys should get some rest. I’m going to head back,” Xavier said, his voice softening as he turned to Lily and Mason, giving each of them a gentle pat on the head before making his way back to the villa next door.

Once Xavier was out of earshot, Patrick turned to Brielle, curiosity etched on his face. “What was Xavier talking about? I don’t quite get it.”

Brielle paused, contemplating for a moment before responding. “He’s probably referring to Josephine. It seems like Gerald and Josephine have been getting pretty close lately.” The words tumbled out, laced with concern.

Patrick’s brow furrowed in confusion. “But didn’t Xavier invest a lot of money to make Josephine a director before? Why does he suddenly have a negative opinion of her now?” His bewilderment was palpable, as he struggled to connect the dots.

Brielle understood that Patrick was often preoccupied with work, his attention rarely straying to the nuances of Xavier’s personal life. “You see, Aveline doesn’t really like her half-sister. She doesn’t acknowledge her at all,” she clarified, her voice steady.

Patrick nodded slowly, the pieces beginning to fit together in his mind. “It’s understandable that she wouldn’t want to acknowledge her. If I were in her shoes, I’d find it difficult to accept too.”

“I’ll have a serious talk with Gerald,” Brielle declared, her resolve hardening. “He even asked me to invest in a movie before. It seems like he’s been duped by Josephine.” The weight of her words hung heavily in the air, a mix of determination and worry.

Brielle frowned, her brows knitting together in concern. “Didn’t I warn you that Xavier advised against just listening to Gerald and investing in whatever he suggested?”

“I didn’t agree; I turned him down. Gerald wasn’t pleased about it,” Patrick replied, a hint of defensiveness creeping into his tone. “I’ll talk to him again. I don’t want him to end up being taken in by a woman.”

Meanwhile, as Patrick was on the phone with Gerald, the latter was at a bar, Josephine seated right beside him. It was there that she learned about the Beltran and Baldwin families heading to Mount Ardwood for their vacation.

Josephine’s curiosity sparked, and she asked, “Is Leona’s family going too?”
