**A Divorce**
**Chapter 777**
The air crackled with tension as Josephine’s voice pierced the silence, dripping with venomous disdain. “You’re nothing more than a pathetic excuse for a man, a total loser. If it weren’t for your failures, my mother and I would be thriving, living our best lives without your shadow hanging over us!”
On the other end of the line, Jacob’s fury erupted like a volcano, his frustration manifesting in a cacophony of destruction as he hurled objects around his surroundings. “Without me, do you even think you would exist, you little rascal? And tell me, how would your mother enjoy her so-called comfortable life if it weren’t for my sacrifices?”
Each word from Jacob struck Josephine like a sharp dagger, her heart racing with indignation. “Your mother is merely the other woman in this sordid tale, a life built on the art of seduction. And you dare suggest that my life would somehow be better without you?”
Jacob’s voice turned to ice, laced with bitter contempt. “You’ve taken more than enough from me, your father. And now you want to discard me like yesterday’s trash? Is that your grand plan?”
Josephine’s mind spun as she retorted, “I know you’re at Mount Ardwood. Where’s your mother hiding?”
His insult about her mother hit her like a punch to the gut, leaving her momentarily speechless. “Who told you I’m at Mount Ardwood?” she finally managed to ask, her voice trembling between anger and disbelief.
“I’m not at Mount Ardwood,” he declared coldly, dismissing her with a wave of his hand.
But Jacob continued, his voice steady and unwavering, “Not only are you at Mount Ardwood, but you also have a villa in the Sunset Glow Estates. Don’t pretend otherwise.”
“Damn it! I sacrificed everything to provide for you and your mother. I gave you what you wanted, and now that I’m in trouble, you have the means to help but refuse to lift a finger!”
“That villa is worth hundreds of millions. Who do you think bought it for you?”
“You!” she spat back, her frustration boiling over like a pot left too long on the stove.
“You possess a villa worth hundreds of millions, yet I ask you to sell just one worth tens of millions, but you refuse. Do you want me hunted down by loan sharks?”
“Before I let that happen, I’ll end you first,” Jacob growled, his voice thick with rage, each word dripping with menace.
Listening to Jacob’s fury, Josephine felt a wave of realization wash over her. His anger was rooted in their decision to leave home, a decision born out of fear for her mother and the impending threat of loan sharks. She knew she had to defuse the situation before it spiraled further out of control.
“Dad, please, just calm down. Mom and I left home because she’s pregnant, and we were terrified of what the loan sharks might do.”
“You wouldn’t want anything to happen to your sibling, would you? Mom struggled so hard just to conceive.”
Jacob’s roar echoed through the phone, a thunderous sound that rattled her. “If I believe another word from you women, I’d truly be the biggest fool on the planet.”
A smirk crept onto Josephine’s lips as she thought, Does he really believe he’s so clever?
“Where’s your mother? Is she with you at Mount Ardwood? I’m coming to find you right now. Don’t you dare run away.”
A frown creased Josephine’s brow, but she reassured herself that as long as she could see Marcus tonight—and if everything went according to her plan—she could escape Mount Ardwood without any issues.
So, she replied, “You don’t need to come here. I’m heading back to the city now. My mom isn’t here. If you genuinely care about your son, then let my mother have a peaceful pregnancy.”
With that, she ended the call, her heart racing in her chest, a mix of relief and anxiety coursing through her veins.

When is the novel ending? It’s so unnecessarily long… not a single intimacy or connection just fighting and bickering from the beginning to end...
