Urging Him to Get a Divorce (Aveline and Xavier) novel Chapter 794

**TITLE: A Divorce 794**
**Chapter 794**

“You really think you’re clever, bringing a lawyer into this mess? I could hire one too, you know,” Josephine spat, her voice dripping with disdain.

Gerald, caught off guard, looked bewildered. “What blackmail are you talking about?”

Leona’s lips curled into a mocking smile. “They’re demanding four or five hundred million from us,” she declared, her tone laced with incredulity.

Gerald’s eyes widened in disbelief as he turned to Josephine, searching for clarity. “Josie, this is… outrageous.”

Josephine’s voice was icy, her gaze unwavering. “Marcus humiliated me. Don’t I deserve some form of compensation for that?”

With a furrowed brow, Gerald replied, “You could sue him for that.”

Before he could finish, Marcus interjected, his voice rising in disbelief. “Gerald, you can’t actually believe her ridiculous claims, can you?”

“I could have any woman I desire. Why would I need to force myself on her?” he asserted defiantly.

“Honestly, I’d have to be insane to ruin my family and career over something like this,” Marcus added, his arrogance palpable.

Leona shot him a piercing glare, her anger simmering just below the surface.

Marcus, sensing the tension, quickly backpedaled. “I was just saying that. It’s not like I have a harem or anything,” he stammered, trying to regain control of the situation.

Josephine’s lips twisted into a smirk. “Marcus, still lying to Leona, even now? It’s amusing, really. Given how kind she’s been to me these past two years, I could easily tell her about your little affairs.”

The venom in her words was unmistakable, and Marcus’s eyes darkened with rage, a visceral desire to silence her rising within him.

Josephine had abandoned all sense of propriety. “Glaring at me won’t change a thing. I want five hundred million. Hand it over, and I’ll keep your secrets safe. Otherwise, I’ll make sure everyone knows about your indiscretions.”

“And you get to save face, too,” she added with a sneer.

“Leona, is that what you want? For all your high-society friends in the Twin Cities to be gossiping and laughing at you?”

Gerald staggered back slightly, the weight of Josephine’s words hitting him hard. Her cold demeanor felt alien, as if he were staring at a stranger.

He needed to sit down, and spotting a chair in the corner, he hurried over and sank into it, feeling the world spin around him.

Leona clenched her fists, her teeth grinding together in frustration. Suddenly, she leaped up, pointing an accusatory finger at Josephine. “Do you have any idea who you’re messing with?”
