Urging Him to Get a Divorce (Aveline and Xavier) novel Chapter 799

**TITLE: A Divorce 799**

“No, it’s perfectly fine. I think I’ll just retreat to my room and immerse myself in a book. Just call me if you need anything at all,” she replied, her voice steady, masking the turmoil brewing beneath the surface.

“Alright, alright. Go on then,” he responded, his tone light but concerned.

Once Jason was out of earshot, Aunt hurriedly slipped into the study, the door clicking shut behind her with a sense of finality.

Jonathan lounged on the sofa, a steaming cup of tea in one hand and a novel in the other. He looked up, his brow furrowing slightly at her sudden entrance.

Aunt leaned closer, her voice laced with urgency. “Jonathan, we have a serious problem. Xavier knows. He just visited the villa in the front row and confronted Stephen.”

As she relayed Stephen’s words, Jonathan’s expression darkened. “What do you think we should do? Should we just pack up and leave right now?”

Jonathan’s face turned grave, the weight of the situation evident. “Is it even feasible to leave at this point? And what would fleeing accomplish?”

“But you said Stephen took all the blame, didn’t you?” Aunt pressed, her eyes wide with hope.

“Yes, he did,” Jonathan confirmed, though doubt lingered in his voice.

“Then when we face the Patriarch, we can just claim ignorance. We can say Stephen acted alone, without our knowledge.”

“Do you really think the Patriarch and Xavier will buy that?” Jonathan questioned, skepticism etched on his features.

“Whether they believe it or not, they lack any evidence to prove we instigated Stephen. After all, he was the one who orchestrated everything,” Aunt insisted, her voice rising slightly in fervor.

“Stephen won’t betray me. This situation isn’t severe enough to warrant jail time, anyway,” Jonathan asserted, though a flicker of uncertainty crossed his mind.

Despite his words, Aunt couldn’t shake the feeling of dread that settled in her stomach. She anxiously awaited Xavier’s return, fearing the storm of confrontation that was sure to follow.

As Xavier left Stephen’s villa and made his way back to The Blue Crest Villa, he didn’t seek out Jonathan. Instead, he sank into the living room sofa, his expression dark and brooding. He turned to Amy, his voice icy as he asked, “Are you absolutely certain that Jonathan’s family had no involvement in the kidnapping incident from before?”

Amy met his gaze, her tone steady. “Mr. Beltran, we have yet to uncover any connections at this point.”

Simultaneously, Amy sighed inwardly, struggling to reconcile the notion that Jonathan could be so cold-hearted as to orchestrate his own nephew’s kidnapping.

Xavier’s brow furrowed further as he inquired, “And how is Bryan faring these days?”

“Ever since you confronted him that day, he’s been quite subdued, staying home and avoiding any trouble. He hasn’t dared to gamble again,” Amy replied, her voice tinged with a hint of amusement.
