Urging Him to Get a Divorce (Aveline and Xavier) novel Chapter 798

**A Divorce 798**

The atmosphere was thick with tension, each word hanging like a storm cloud. Josephine felt a surge of humiliation wash over her, her hands trembling with barely contained fury as she fixed Xavier with a piercing glare. Her mind raced, but no words came to her lips; she was rendered speechless.

Xavier, maintaining an unsettling calm, broke the silence. “So it was that Anderson guy who helped you weave this web of deceit, convincing me that you were my savior, wasn’t it?” His tone was cool, almost mocking, as if he relished the revelation.

Josephine stood frozen, her heart pounding in her chest, her mouth slightly agape in shock. The implications of his words began to sink in, and she instinctively turned her gaze toward Stephen, searching for answers.

Could it be true? Did Xavier really know about her lies?

Stephen, caught off guard, mirrored her surprise. He glanced at Xavier, then quickly averted his eyes, a flicker of fear crossing his face. He didn’t want Xavier to see the turmoil brewing within him.

Jacob, completely bewildered, chimed in, “What do you mean? Son-in-law, what are you talking about? Wasn’t it Aveline who saved you?” His confusion only added to the chaos of the moment.

Xavier’s disdain for Jacob was palpable. “What, did Josie save you too?” he shot back, his voice dripping with sarcasm. Jacob’s obliviousness irritated Xavier to no end; it was no wonder that he allowed Courtney and Josephine, that troublesome mother-daughter duo, to wreak havoc without a second thought.

A sneer crept onto Xavier’s lips as he rose from his seat, his gaze locking onto Stephen. “I gave you a chance,” he said, his voice low and menacing. “Since you’re so loyal to Jonathan, just wait for me to destroy you.”

Stephen’s fingers twitched involuntarily at the threat, his jaw clenched as he fought to contain his anger. He met Xavier’s cold stare, determination flickering in his eyes, unwilling to back down.

Without another word, Xavier turned on his heel and strode towards the door, leaving a trail of tension in his wake.

Stephen called out, his voice strained, “Mr. Beltran, I did everything myself. It has nothing to do with your uncle and aunt.”

Xavier didn’t even glance back, his indifference cutting deeper than any blade. “Is that so? You want to take the fall alone?” he retorted, his words laced with scorn before he exited, slamming the door behind him.

The truth of her deception hung heavily in the air, and panic surged within Josephine. She had always thought that as long as Xavier believed she was his savior, he wouldn’t completely obliterate her life. But now that the facade had crumbled, the reality was far more terrifying. She could feel the storm brewing within him, even if he hadn’t unleashed his fury just yet. It was only a matter of time before he struck.

“Mr. Anderson, what do we do?” Josephine’s voice quivered as she turned to Stephen, desperation creeping into her tone.

A half-empty bottle of water sat on the coffee table, a remnant of their earlier confrontation. In a fit of rage, Stephen snatched it up and hurled it at Josephine, his voice booming with anger. “You’re useless! You mess everything up! Get out!”

Josephine’s heart raced with fear as she scrambled to grab her suitcase, urgency propelling her out the door.

Jacob, who had initially intended to scold Stephen for his outburst, changed course when he saw Josephine bolt from the room. He hurried after her, concern etched on his face.

As they reached the car, Jacob asked, “Josie, what on earth is going on?” His voice was filled with confusion and worry.
