Urging Him to Get a Divorce (Aveline and Xavier) novel Chapter 797

**TITLE: A Divorce 797**

“If you decide to hold that press conference, you can kiss the five hundred million goodbye,” Stephen warned, his voice dripping with disdain.

Josephine, feeling the weight of his words, replied with a hint of resignation, “Honestly, I won’t see a dime of that five hundred million, even if I don’t hold the press conference.”

With a mocking smile, Stephen retorted, “In the end, it all comes down to this: you should never have gotten involved with Marcus. You should have stuck with Xavier. He would have treated you better.”

Josephine felt a rush of anger. “You should have listened to my instructions instead of acting on your own whims,” she shot back, her voice steady but laced with frustration.

“Now, just get out,” he commanded, his tone leaving no room for argument.

Biting her lip, Josephine felt a mix of humiliation and defeat wash over her. She was acutely aware that this villa wasn’t her home, and lingering here would only deepen her sense of shame. It was time to leave, to reclaim whatever dignity she had left.

With a heavy heart, she trudged upstairs to gather her belongings, each step feeling like an echo of her failures. Jacob, noticing her distress, hurried after her. “Josie, what the hell is happening? Who is this guy?” he asked, confusion etched on his face.

“Did he buy this villa? Wasn’t it supposed to be for you?” he pressed, his curiosity piqued.

“Just pack your things! We need to go,” Josephine snapped, her patience fraying. “Go ask my mom if you want to know more. I don’t want to explain anything right now.”

“Your mom? She knows this guy? Where is she, anyway? You won’t tell me where she is!” Jacob’s bewilderment only added to her mounting anxiety.

In a desperate bid for clarity, Josephine grabbed her phone and dialed her mother, urgency in her voice as she relayed the shocking news that Stephen had thrown her out of the villa.

Courtney’s reaction was one of disbelief. “I’ve been trying to reach him, but he’s not answering! So he’s gone off to Mount Ardwood?” she exclaimed, her voice rising with concern.

“Put him on the phone,” she demanded, her tone brooking no argument.

Josephine made her way downstairs, steeling herself as she approached Stephen. “My mom wants to speak with you,” she said, holding out the phone with a mix of hope and trepidation.

Stephen took the phone but, in a fit of rage, hurled it out the door, the sound of it crashing against the ground echoing through the villa.

Josephine jumped in shock. “What are you doing?” she cried, panic rising in her chest.

“Get out,” he repeated, his voice cold and unyielding.

Fear gripped her, and she hesitated, not daring to step outside to retrieve her phone. Instead, she hurried back upstairs, her heart racing as she grabbed her luggage.

In her room, Josephine quickly used Jacob’s phone to call Courtney once more. As the pieces of the situation fell into place for her mother, a sense of dread filled the air. It seemed Mr. Anderson had no intention of collaborating with her anymore.

“Listen, you two need to head back to the city first. I’ll reach out to him again,” Courtney instructed, her voice firm but tinged with worry.

Just then, the atmosphere shifted as Xavier entered the villa, his presence commanding immediate attention.

The moment Stephen spotted him, his demeanor changed dramatically; he shot up from the sofa, visibly shaken.

Xavier surveyed the room with an air of authority before choosing an empty sofa to settle into, with Amy standing protectively behind him.

“Strange, the name Stephen doesn’t ring a bell, yet I feel like we’ve crossed paths before,” Xavier remarked coolly, his gaze piercing.
