**A Divorce**
**Chapter 803**
A sudden crash echoed through the room as the glass ashtray collided with Jacob’s face. The sharp impact sent a jolt of pain through him, and he couldn’t help but yell, “Damn it, you fucking bitch!” His voice was a mixture of shock and rage, reverberating off the walls.
In that moment, he was convinced that Courtney was spinning a web of lies, perhaps concocting a story just to have the opportunity to strike him, or even worse, to end his life. The thought simmered in his mind, igniting a fury that surged through his veins.
With a knife gripped tightly in his hand, Jacob pointed it menacingly at Courtney, his voice dripping with venom. “You think I won’t kill you?” The air between them crackled with tension as they squared off, each waiting for the other to make a move.
Meanwhile, Josephine stood frozen in the doorway, her heart racing as she took in the chaotic scene. Her gaze shifted, and she noticed a middle-aged man emerging from the bedroom. Confusion washed over her as she thought, Who is that? The sight was surreal, like a scene from a nightmare.
The atmosphere felt oppressive, a whirlwind of fear and uncertainty swirling around her. Josephine wanted to scream, to shout for help, but her voice was trapped in her throat, suffocated by her shock.
Without warning, the man charged at Jacob, his expression fierce and determined. He seized Jacob by the shoulders and delivered a swift punch to his face, followed by a relentless barrage of kicks. Each blow echoed like thunder, drowning out the chaos of the moment.
Jacob crumpled to the floor, the knife slipping from his fingers and clattering away. The man’s eyes were filled with a fierce intensity, his mouth set in a grim line as he continued to rain down blows on Jacob.
Panic surged within Jacob as he realized he was on the brink of being beaten to death. Desperately, he crawled toward the knife, his body screaming in protest. But the man was quicker—he kicked Jacob again, then lunged for the weapon.
Fear gripped Jacob’s heart as he envisioned the man plunging the knife into him. In a burst of adrenaline, he lunged forward, and the two men began to wrestle, grappling for control.
Meanwhile, Courtney was spiraling into a haze of pain, her vision blurring as she felt warmth trickling beneath her. It was a sensation she couldn’t quite comprehend. “Jo… Josie, call, call for he…” Her voice was barely a whisper, strained and weak.
Josephine, transfixed by the brutal struggle before her, was oblivious to her mother’s plea. The chaos consumed her, and she felt paralyzed, unable to process the horror unfolding in front of her.
With a sudden surge of energy, Jacob managed to land a punch on the middle-aged man’s face. Just as he prepared to strike again, the man’s hand found the knife, and in a swift motion, he drove it into Jacob’s abdomen.
Time seemed to freeze as Jacob’s eyes widened in shock, disbelief washing over his features. Josephine’s heart dropped as she witnessed the gruesome act, her mouth opening in a silent scream, but no sound escaped her lips.
The realization of what he had done hit the middle-aged man like a freight train. As blood gushed from Jacob’s wound, he stumbled back, terror etched across his face. “Damn it, damn it, damn it…” he muttered, his voice trembling.
He glanced over at Courtney, panic rising within him. “Courtney, holy crap, I’ve killed Jacob!” His words hung in the air, thick with dread.
Courtney, barely clinging to consciousness, managed to utter, “Call, call an ambulance.” Her voice was a mere shadow of its usual strength.
The man’s eyes widened as he noticed the blood seeping from Courtney as well. “You, what’s wrong with you?” he stammered, his shock palpable.

When is the novel ending? It’s so unnecessarily long… not a single intimacy or connection just fighting and bickering from the beginning to end...
