**TITLE: A Divorce**
**Chapter 804**
“What on earth are you saying?”
Hilda, her voice rising in urgency, turned her back on Jacob and directed her frantic energy toward Josephine. “Josie! You need to help your real dad right now! If Jacob manages to escape, we’re all in deep trouble.”
Josephine, her heart racing, glanced at her mother, then at Jacob, who was still reeling from the chaos around them. “Mom, she’s bleeding heavily. We have to call an ambulance and get her to the hospital—like, right now!”
Jacob’s anger was a raging fire, consuming all rational thought. The pain in his abdomen seemed to fade into the background as fury took over. “Damn it, Courtney, you’ve betrayed me with this… this man!”
“Josie isn’t my daughter! You’ve been deceiving me this entire time, haven’t you?” he spat, his voice thick with disbelief and betrayal.
In a moment of sheer desperation, Jacob summoned a burst of strength he didn’t know he had left. He swung his fist at the man, who stumbled back and hit the ground with a thud.
Hilda, her voice laced with panic, urged Josephine once more. “Go, Josie! We need to act fast!”
Josephine, feeling the weight of the situation, finally moved her feet, albeit hesitantly. But as Jacob caught sight of this, a surge of adrenaline coursed through him. He yanked the knife from his abdomen, the pain sharp and immediate, and lunged at the man with a wild determination.
Yet the man, surprisingly agile, rolled to the side, evading the attack.
Jacob’s strength was waning; he had lost too much blood. No matter how furious he felt, his body was betraying him. The man seized the opportunity, delivering a brutal kick that sent Jacob crashing to the floor before retrieving the knife that had fallen from Jacob’s grasp.
Jacob’s eyes, wide with shock and fear, were filled with a desperate resolve as he struggled to rise. But the man, cold and calculating, plunged the knife into Jacob once more.
In that moment, Jacob’s body fell still.
The man, now realizing the gravity of his actions, muttered under his breath, “Damn it, I stabbed him again. This time, he’s really dead.”
Josephine, witnessing the horror unfold, felt her legs give way beneath her. She collapsed onto the floor, overwhelmed by the sight of Jacob’s blood pooling around him.
The man rushed to Courtney’s side, panic etched across his face. “Courtney, what do we do now?”
Courtney, consumed by her own survival instinct, could only think of herself. “Drag him into the bedroom. Call for an ambulance!”
Hilda interjected, her voice steady despite the chaos. “I think it would be better to take you directly to the hospital—the one nearby.”
But the man, paralyzed with fear from what he had done, couldn’t even lift Courtney.
Frustrated, Hilda realized she couldn’t manage alone and called out for Josephine. But Josephine remained frozen, too terrified to move, lying motionless on the ground.
With no other option, Hilda dialed for an ambulance. Together, she and the man dragged Jacob’s lifeless body into the bedroom, the floor slick with blood beneath their feet. They concocted a plan to tell the paramedics that the blood was Courtney’s if anyone asked.
The ambulance arrived in record time. Before Courtney even reached the hospital, the paramedics assessed the situation and grimly concluded that the baby couldn’t be saved.

When is the novel ending? It’s so unnecessarily long… not a single intimacy or connection just fighting and bickering from the beginning to end...
