Chapter 111
I’m busy Saturday. How about you go with Uncle Zark and Betty?”
Sam nodded. Anything was better than going alone. Chase called Zark, asking him to take Sam. Zark agreed.
On Saturday, Zark took Sam and Betty to Happy Valley. Sam seemed disinterested, unlike before. It was like something was bothering him. Zark gave
them ice cream.
Looking at Sam’s face, which was similar to Ashley’s, Zark asked, “Sam, are you upset?”
Sam licked his ice cream. “I miss Mommy.” His mother would call him everyday when he was abroad. After he came back, his mother had been busy, but she would still call him every few days and came home to make dinner for him. Now, she wasn’t even answering his calls.
Zark was aware of the divorce agreement and the custody arrangement, but not their current situation. He asked what happened. Sam recounted his mother’s unanswered calls.
Knowing Sam didn’t know about the divorce, Zark said,”Your mother’s probably busy. It’ll be alright.”
Sam nodded. “Daddy said the same thing.”
Seeing Sam’s unhappiness, Betty said, “I miss an aunt too, but Uncle Zark said she was busy. Grown-ups are always busy.”

Around 5:30 PM, Chase called Zark.”Where are you?”
Zark gave him the address.
Chase arrived.
Daddy!” Sam was happy to see him. Chase picked him up, pinching his cheek. “Did you have fun with Uncle Zark and Betty?”
Sam nodded happily, clinging to him until they reached their private room. Chase thanked Zark.
Don’t say that,” Zark said. They played by themselves. I was just being there.” Looking at Chase, he said, “I know you have custody, but have you talked abour visitation?”
Chase understood. He smiled.”Do you think I’m preventing her from seeing Sam?”
Zark had indeed thought so. Chase took a sip of tea.”Custody is with me, but the agreement clearly states she can see Sam anytime without restriction.” Zark was surprised. The children looked over, so they changed the subject.
Chase said, “I heard youd been in contact with Eternal.”
Zark paused. “Yes.” He asked, “And you? No interest?”
Chase said, I haven’t decided. No rush.”
“Mm-hmm
Ashley’s paper wasn’t finished. After a day and a half of work, she and Cindy had dinner and went shopping before returning home. It was a peaceful
