They settled into the spectator stands just as the practice race began. Benjamin and Matt were not crazy about racing and didn’t know much racers. After watching for a while and listening to the commentator’s analysis, they learned that racer No.38, Ella, along with two other drivers, were the top contenders for the championship. More importantly, Ella was the only female racer in the competition.
Many spectators focused on Ella, especially after her two breathtaking overtakes that elicited gasps from the crowd. Benjamin exclaimed, “Wow, that’s guts! So cool!”
Knowing Benjamin didn’t know Ella was Tanya, Jeffery smiled subtly. Ella won both practice races.
Benjamin excitedly asked, “Who is Ella? I want to meet her!”
As soon as he spoke, Ellagot out of the car and removed her helmet. Seeing Tanya on the screen, Benjamin’s jaw dropped. That’s Tanya? This…this…”
His astonishment quickly turned to disappointment. “I… I was thinking about pursuing her, and you tell me she’s Chase’s girlfriend? Fine, I will never have a chance!” He slumped, muttering, “So Chase is the real winner in life, right?”
Tanya spotted them. She was surprised to see Matt here. Approaching them, she asked, “Wow, so good to see you guys here. I didn’t know interested in racing.”

Jeffery spoke first, “We weren’t, but we heard you mentioned it, so we decided to check it out.” He added, “You drove really well. First place in both races! Congratulations.”
Tanya smiled. Thank you.”
Matt also offered congratulations. Tanya thanked him, then added, “It’s been a while, Mr. Adler. I thought I was mistaken when I saw you from a
distance just now.”
Matt responded, “I’m usually busy with work and don’t have much free time.”
Tanya teased him.”I heard you were a pilot. Compared to your line of work, does our racing competition seem a bit dull?”
“Racing has its own charm. I don’t think there’s a need for comparison. Besides, you drive exceptionally well, Miss Mond.”
Tanya laughed at the compliment.
Jeffery asked, “Where’s Chase? Didn’t he come?”
“He had something else to do, but he’ll definitely be there for the official race,” Tanya said. “When the day arrives, if you all are available, feel free to come and watch my race.”
Jeffery replied, “If I have time, I’ll definitely be there.” He wanted to see her race, but since Chase would be there…
Saturday morning, Ashley woke early. She opened her laptop to check model data. Soon, her phone rang. It was Gabriel.
A few days earlier, Gabriel had shared an idea that she found promising. She’d allocated resources and was personally following its progress. They’d been in frequent contact recently.
Assuming it was work-related, Ashley answered. But it wasn’t about work. He asked about fun places to visit in the city.
Ashley said, “What I like might not be your style. Don’t you have friends here? Go ask them.”
Gabriel replied, “I’m not interested in the places they suggested.” Hearing her typing, he asked, “It’s the weekend. Still working?”
Ashley said, “Yeah.”
“Spending the whole weekend indoors? Not going anywhere?”
Ashley’s eyes were still glued to the screen.”I’m taking m grandma to see a play tonight.”
“What kind of play? Where?”
Opera. You probably wouldn’t like it.”

Ashley reluctantly provided details. Gabriel immediately bought tickets online. Soon, a friend contacted him,’Gabriel, tonight…”
“Nah, I have plans tonight.”
After hanging up, Ashley worked until noon. Looking at the calendar, she remembered Betty’s birthday was approaching and called Zark.
Zark always wanted more contact with Ashley. This desire intensified after learning about Gabriel’s feelings for her. Their interactions were limited to work and Betty. He couldn’t find a suitable excuse to call her, especially with Chase’s involvement with Eternal.
Seeing her call, he immediately stopped what he was doing and answered.
Ashley asked, “Mr. Green, am I disturbing you?”
“No,” he said softly. “What’s up?”
“It’s about Betty’s birthday. I want to make her a gift myself, but I’m worried she might not like it. I wanted your opinion.”
Touched by her concern, he said sincerely, “Betty loves you. She’ll love anything you make.”
That was true. Ashley smiled.”Well… do you have any specific suggestions?”
He thought for a while. “Do you bake cakes?”
“Yes, Ashley replied. “Got it.”
Thank you. Let me know if you have any questions.”
“Okay.”
