Wake Up Leave The Liar novel Chapter 428

Chapter 406.

“Ms. Mond.”

Tanya offered a faint smile as he approached. “Mr. Cooper.”

Jeffery glanced around. Why are you all by yourself over here? Where’s Mr. Sterling?”

Tanya pointed. Chase is over there, doing business.”

Jeffery followed her gaze, then his eyes snapped back to her.

He hesitated, then couldn’t help himself.”Ms. Mond, you don’t look too happy. Everything alright?”

Tanya’s smile froze.

Seeing her reaction, Jeffery pressed.”Is this about Ashley?”

Before Tanya could even reply, Jeffery shot Ashley a cold glance.”Someone like her, actually thriving? And even William and his wife seem to like her. This world really isn’t fair.”

Tanya’s mood was definitely off today.

And yeah, Ashley was totally involved.

But not how Jeffery imagined.

What she was really worried about was Ashley’s dual identity William’s student and Eternal’s co-founder blowing up tonight.

She’d been on edge for days because of it. Now, that tension was almost at its peak.

Hearing Jeffery, she knew he’d completely misunderstood.

She wasn’t about to explain, though. If anything, Jeffery showing up actually eased her mood a little.

Just then, Chase came back.

He saw Jeffery, smiled.”Mr. Cooper, you’re here?”

Jeffery gave a slight nod.”Just came to chat with Ms. Mond for a bit. Since you two have something going on, I won’t interrupt.”

No need for formalities, Mr. Cooper.” Chase said.

But Jeffery left anyway.

Chase must’ve thought she was dying to ask William some questions.”Waited long?” he asked.”Let’s go say hi to Mr. Burke and his wife now.”

Back then, William was a rare sight. Even if Tim, one of his students, hated her guts, she’d totally ignore Tim and find a way to chat up William.

But now…

Ashley was already William’s student, ages ago.

Which meant William already knew who she was, even back when she first met him.

William had said she wasn’t good enough to be his student.

That was probably true, what William said. But when he faced her back then, was he really free of bias?

Besides, was Ashley really that amazing before he took her on?

“What’s wrong?”

Chase asked, seeing she’d gone quiet.

“Nothing.”

She didn’t want to go, but to keep Chase from noticing anything off, she followed him toward William.

“Mr. Burke, Dr. Riley.”
