You Looked Down on Me Once Now You Look Up (Patricia and Oliver) novel Chapter 580

“You messed with Tina and Emerson’s car, sent them straight to their deaths. When the cops started sniffing around, you freaked out—scared you’d end up in jail. So you ran to your mother, begged her to cover for you, to lie to the police. Not only that, you pushed her, as the grieving mother, to pressure the police to close the case fast. That’s why Jason’s case just stopped cold. His and his wife’s bodies were taken away and cremated before anyone could even ask questions.”

“And you, just like that, inherited his company. Everything fell right into your lap, just like you wanted.”

“Emerson, you did all of this.”

“You killed your own brother for money. You forced your own mother to lie for you. You did all these terrible things—how are you going to explain any of it?”

“And there’s Wilma’s husband too. Jason made him CFO, but you two never got along. So you found someone to take the blame and drove him to his death.”

“Tell me, am I wrong?”

Brandon’s voice was raw and loud, every word hitting Emerson like a punch.

The tension in the room was suffocating.

Emerson sat frozen in his chair, shaking. He tried to catch his breath, tried to hold himself together, but Brandon’s words kept coming at him, relentless.

Brandon slammed his hand down on the table, breaking whatever strength Emerson had managed to pull together.

He shouted, “Emerson, answer me!”

“If you won’t talk, we’ll dig up the truth ourselves. These two cases are connected, and you’re not the only suspect. Don’t think you’re getting out of this.”
