You Looked Down on Me Once Now You Look Up (Patricia and Oliver) novel Chapter 596

“When did Nina and Patricia suddenly become allies?”

“What’s up with her new post on social media?”

“What do you think? Nina’s always loved a bit of drama. Remember, she once fought with Ruby over a guy. She probably just couldn’t help herself—had to post something snarky and stir things up.”

“You guys are too much. You care more about Nina’s social media than about whether Emerson actually killed Patricia’s father?”

Typical. Someone dies and it barely registers unless it’s one of their own. But gossip about people close by? That’s always up for discussion.

Inside the yoga studio, a few women sat stretching on their mats, phones glued to their hands.

One of them kept scrolling through Nina’s post, reading it again and again.

She smirked, “Aren’t you even a little curious about what’s really going on? If this was about fighting over a guy, wouldn’t Nina and Patricia be at each other’s throats? Patricia was the real wife, after all. Ruby was just the ex who never even made it to fiancée status—what’s there to be jealous about? Besides, from what I heard, Ruby and Theo’s relationship was practically platonic. They probably never even slept together.”

“If she never got him in bed, what’s there to be jealous of?”

“Nina and Patricia? Please. Do you think Patricia even cares about Nina? Honestly, I think Patricia never liked Theo in the first place.”

“So why did she marry him? Wouldn’t it have been easier to just take some money and move on?”

“That’s something only Patricia could answer. She’s impossible to read and keeps everyone at arm’s length. Who knows what she’s really thinking?”

“Wendy, you’re close to Ruby, right? Do you know anything?”

Wendy, who’d been quiet the whole time, glanced up, a little startled at being called out. She shook her head. “How would I know?”

“Why are you even asking Wendy? After what happened to Ruby, she’s not dumb enough to spill everything like she used to. She’s way more careful now.”

Wendy let out a silent breath of relief. Thank god. Dodged that one.

After yoga, everyone headed out to their cars.
