You Looked Down on Me Once Now You Look Up (Patricia and Oliver) novel Chapter 681

Mr. Padilla was never one for self-control. Back in Riverdale, it wasn’t every single day, but he could never go more than two days without getting antsy—unless there was a good reason. That was his limit.

Patricia, though, had always been more reserved, a little uneasy about intimacy. Oliver’s desire was just... too much sometimes. She could barely keep up.

So when they came back to Golden Bay, the only thing Patricia was grateful for was finally being able to get some actual rest at night. Still, she knew this peace wouldn’t last.

On October fourth, after a family dinner and some casual chatting, everyone turned in early. Miles and his wife lived the healthiest lives—there was basically a nutritionist and a wellness coach living full-time at the Padilla house just to look after the three elders.

Patricia went upstairs, took a long relaxing bath, put on a face mask, and slipped into bed with a soft sigh, finally comfortable and alone.

But around midnight, after the three Padilla brothers finished their little get-together, everyone went back to their own rooms.

Half-asleep, Patricia felt someone pull her close, a shadow falling across her. Her reluctance, which she usually managed to hide, suddenly bubbled up as she half-heartedly tried to push him away.

Oliver, after a few days of restraint, was done holding back. Patricia just couldn’t get into it. She kept whispering that she felt awkward here at his family’s place, that he was heavy, that it hurt.

They went back and forth for a good half hour, but he still hadn’t finished. Oliver propped himself up, looking completely frustrated.

Patricia hesitated, wanting to explain herself, but she held back—if she said too much, he might just use it as an excuse to keep going.

Their eyes met in a heavy silence. Patricia felt completely trapped under Oliver’s intense gaze, like she was being pulled into deep water with no way out.

After a long moment, she reached up and gently squeezed his waist. “Can we just... talk about this when we’re back home?”
