You Looked Down on Me Once Now You Look Up (Patricia and Oliver) novel Chapter 740

“Mr. Sheng, where are you rushing off to?”

On the top floor of Pacific Capital, Hector had just stepped out of the restroom when he nearly collided with Mr. Sheng, the head of PR. The man looked frantic, wiping sweat from his forehead like the world was about to end.

“Mr. McKee...” Mr. Sheng glanced at the tablet in his hand, clearly struggling with what to say.

Hector raised an eyebrow, taking the tablet from him. It was still locked. “Seriously, is it the end of the world? You’re acting like something major just happened. Let me see.”

Mr. Sheng watched as Hector’s easygoing attitude disappeared. “Is it a big deal?” he asked quietly.

Hector just stared at him.

“Who did this?” Hector finally asked.

“Ruby,” Mr. Sheng admitted. “But I stopped her before anything got out.”

“So you were heading to see Mr. Padilla, right?”

Hector sighed to himself. No matter how careful he tried to be, things always managed to slip through the cracks. All this over a cup of coffee? Was it really worth blowing up into a scandal? If the media ever got a hold of that photo, Cloud Peak would probably explode, and Oliver would absolutely lose his mind.

“Yeah, I was going to ask him what to do.”

Hector smirked, handing the tablet back. “If you want to walk straight into the lion’s den, be my guest.”

Mr. Sheng looked between Hector and the tablet, then quickly backed away like he’d touched something dangerous. “Well, since you’re holding the tablet now, maybe you should hang onto it for a bit. I’ll come back for it in a few days.”

“Mr. Martin?” the secretary tried again when Ruby didn’t answer.

Ruby blinked, finally snapping out of it. “Tell him I’m not here.”

If Pacific Capital had anything to do with Patricia, Hector’s visit definitely wasn’t a good sign. It was way too much of a coincidence that he showed up right after she released that story about Theo and Patricia. Things like this didn’t just happen by chance.

“So I’m not even important enough to get through Mr. Martin’s door?” she muttered.

Before the secretary could recover, the office door swung open. Hector walked in, arms crossed, leaning casually against the doorframe. His tailored suit fit perfectly, not a single wrinkle in sight, and it was obvious it cost a fortune.

Ruby had always been a sucker for a good-looking man. Back when she was with Theo, his looks had been a big part of the draw. Now, looking at Hector, she felt something different—a strange mix of boyish charm and the undeniable presence of someone who owned the room.
