“What? What about me? You're just going to leave me to go back to Seastone City alone? I'm still weak, you should come back and get me…”
Celia's incessant whining grated on Tyson's frayed nerves. The dam of his composure finally broke. “Will you shut up?”
“You…” Celia was stunned. She couldn't believe he was speaking to her like that. “Ty, were you… were you talking to me?”
“Yes, I was talking to you!” he snapped, all restraint gone. “You're so damn annoying, Celia! The mess I'm in today, it's all your fault!”
“Are you insane?” Celia shrieked. “How dare you blame me! You're the one who was trying to have his cake and eat it too, and now you have the nerve to pin it all on me? Have you forgotten I just had a miscarriage? I lost our baby, and this is how you treat me?”
Tyson was trembling with rage. He closed his eyes, too exhausted to argue anymore.
“Don't come back to Seastone City.”
“Why not? I…”
“I'll have people take care of you while you recover in the Capital. When you're better, you can go to another city, or even move abroad. I don't care. Just stay away from Seastone City. If you need money, just ask. I'll give it to you.”
He knew that with Winona gone, he should keep Celia around. At least he wouldn't be completely alone. But every time he looked at her, he was reminded of all the choices he regretted.
He ignored them, went straight to the bar, and started ordering cocktails, one after another. He lost count of how many he drank, downing them until his head was spinning and the bartender's face became a blur. Maybe if he got drunk enough, he'd stop thinking about Winona.
Just as he was about to leave, a stunning blonde with an incredible figure slid onto the stool next to him. “Hey handsome. Drinking alone? Broken heart?”
Tyson snorted. “Something like that.”
“With a face like yours? Whoever broke your heart must be crazy,” the woman purred, her hand wandering onto his thigh.
