Alpha’s Betrayal Luna’s Revenge (Samantha) novel Chapter 52

Sam’s POV

“I can’t believe how you two girls are talking to one another. You used to be such good friends,” Drake said, stepping forward. Lily smiled as she believed it was me who was being scolded.

Zola was right. I wasn’t the Samantha everyone once knew

—the kind, sweet girl who was eager to please and willing to forgive. I am Sam, an independent and headstrong survivor. I do not answer these people, nor should I be afraid of them. I embraced my inner Sasha, the smart-mouthed woman with whom I have been spending time, a woman who is not afraid to say what is on her mind. “It’s hard to be friends with someone who would literally stab you in the back to get into your mate’s pants. There is one slut in this vicinity, and I am looking right at her.” I said Loudly enough for everyone to hear. Gasps and snickers filled the air, and my calling her out horrified Lily.

Drake looked confused by my words, then he had a shocked expression on his face. He puffed as he glared at Lily. He then straightened his tie and turned his head towards me. “Seeing that there doesn’t appear to be a resolution in this situation. Samantha, would you be willing to trust me with such a special invitation?” he asked.

“Unfortunately, not Drake. As my colleague stated. It had to be placed in the hands of the pack’s Alpha.” Then, anidea popped into my mind. An idea that would help me get closer to the item I was here for. It would mean being a tad bit manipulative, but no one would get hurt. “But out of respect for my former Alpha. I would be willing to place it in the Alpha’s safe. To be closely guarded by yourself, safe and sound, until Axel’s return. Then you could give it to him.” I felt so bad, but it would get me where I wanted to be. “I would only do this because | fully trust and respect you.”

“So you would give it to that old man and not me? The Shadow Pack’s Luna.” Lily screamed as she stamped her foot again. Her tantrum amused me. What a child.

1Smiled at Drake. “I would only make this offerto someone | trust implicitly. Drake treated me well and never harmed me. Even if you were the last person in this pack, Lily. I wouldn’t trust you.” I said sweetly.

Drake put his arm around me. “You all hear this?” he yelled. “You offer kindness and respect. It will be reciprocated. You should all learn from this example.” I still felt bad as I was using Drake, but I snickered, as suspected his words were aimed at Lily.

“Stop feeling bad. He’s loving the attention. Let him believe that’s why you’re doing this,” Zola yelled at me.

As soon as he was out of sight, I rushed into my old suite and grimaced. There was a huge four-poster bed in the middle of the room. But the place had all sorts of bondage gear scattered around. Whips, chains, handcuffs, and tons of leather stuff all over the place. “Get what you need and gęt out,” Zola reminded me. I rushed to the wall where the loose skirting board was. I pulled it from the wall to reveal the hiding place of my necklace.

I looked in horror at the empty hole. Perhaps I pushed the box back a little further the last time I put it away? That happened occasionally. reached in, heard a snap, and felt an immediate pain in my fingers. I quickly pulled my hand back to find my finger caught in a mousetrap. The slim metal bar was embedded in my flesh, and I was bleeding.

It stung, but nothing I couldn’t deal with. My heart sank as I knew someone had replaced my heirloom with a trap. No doubt someone named Lily.

I didn’t have time to be angry, as I knew I couldn’t be caught here. I pulled my fingers from the trap and replaced the skirt. I rushed outside and pulled the door closed. I leaned against the door and noticed that my fingers were still throbbing. “Are you not able to help them?” I asked Zola, who told me that she couldn’t. That confirms it was Lily. She must have coated the trap in wolfsbane, suspecting that one day I might try to get my necklace back one day. But it does beg the question. What has she done with it? Where has she put it?
