Alpha’s Betrayal Luna’s Revenge (Samantha) novel Chapter 73

Ellie’s POV

Thankfully, it didn’t come to killing anyone when a woman appeared at the gates panting. “Sasha, are you okay? You shouldn’t be running from the palace, not in your condition,” Kevin said with a touch of concern in his voice as he disappeared inside the hut and opened the gate to let her through.

She ignored Kevin completely, and between her pants, she leaned forward to catch her breath and said a single word,

“Ellie?” Her knowing who I am made me smile. I nodded my head in acknowledgment. As her breathing slowed.” What’s your wolf’s name?” She asked.

It was a fair question. I had never met her before. But only someone who knew me would have told her the answer.” Kiki,” I responded. As her name left my lips, Sasha ran to me and held me tightly.

“Where have you been? Sam’s been losing her mind,” she told me. Her scent told me she had been with Sam, so l had no reason to doubt her words.

“Is she okay?”

“I was with her when Kevin mindlinked me. She’s ecstatic and getting ready for her ceremony as we speak.”

“What do you mean, Sasha? That this thing was actually invited here?” Kevin asked, gesturing toward me. I might teach him a lesson he will never forget. But not now. If she was as upset as Sasha told me, I want to get to Sam

“Do you hot-know who this is? What this is?” Sasha picked my torn invitation off the ground and waved it in front of Kevin’s face.

“I don’t care who she is. Look at the state of her, she stinks and she’s rotten. Not only that the invitation she handed me was torn. It isn’t even the right color. Don’t be fooled Sasha, look at it. It’s not bronze,” he said innocently.

“There’s a good reason for that, Kevin.” Sasha snapped and breathed like she was trying to calm herself. “Kevin, do you know what color it is?” Sasha yelled at Kevin. I guess that calming technique didn’t work. Not giving him a chance to answer. “Let me tell you, it’s gold.” She threw the two pieces of my invitation in his face. “The Alpha King issued only one gold invitation to a special VIP. It was personally delivered by my mate and was to ensure the VIP’s arrival went smoothly and that she could go anywhere she wanted when she arrived. You were in the bloody briefing, Kevin. What did you not understand?” | was dying to snicker at Kevin as he retreated in fear from Sasha.

“There is no chance she is a VIP. Look at the state of her, Sasha.” Kevin said weakly.

Sasha walked up to Kevin and punched him, “I wouldn’t care if she were naked. She’s the Alpha King’s VIP. Now get on your knees and beg for her forgiveness. Or the Alpha King will punish you personally for insulting his special guest.” Kevin looked horrified and did as he was told.

“I’m sorry, please forgive me,” he begged.

“Just because I look grubby doesn’t mean anything. You judged me only on appearance, not who l am,” I told him calmly, while he groveled at my feet.

Sasha then turned to me. “This is all of my fault, Ellie. I cannot apologize enough for the misunderstanding.

Please come with me, and I will take you directly to Sam,” Sasha instructed. At least someone has a brain around here.

‘ “Perfect,” I told her. I smirked and walked through the gates, calling Kevin an idiot.

On our walk to the palace, Sasha couldn’t apologize enough. But I didn’t care about her apology; she wasn’t in the wrong. At least I was calm and no blood was shed. I just wanted to get to Sam. I do have one question, though:

“Why do you smell sweet?” l asked her, as Ingrid had a similar scent, and I was curious.

She smiled at me. “Because I am pregnant. I’m surprised you don’t know that. Sam tells me you know everything about animals.”

I shook my head and smiled. ” know a lot, but I don’t know everything. Besides, I know virtually nothing about shifters, as I have never been around that many. Maybe three or four in my life, and that was only recently.”

“My mate would be one of those you met,” she said happily. She had better not be Reagan’s mate, or I will personally castrate him for cheating on his pregnant mate. “He only briefly met you as he stayed in a hotel when he went to South View.

“Phillip?” I asked, wanting to confirm it was him. Sasha’s. smile grew and I knew I was right.

He scoffed and grinned as he spoke. “You won’t try anything here. We are at the Alpha King’s palace. There is no way you would get away with pulling that crap like you did in South View.”

I smiled and stepped toward him. “You forget Beta Jaxon. I am a lone wolf. I am not loyal to anyone, nor am I scared of anyone. I do as I please.” His smug smile disappeared, and he started to back away. He was backing away from me. “Tell you what, Jaxon. Tell your Alpha l am eager to meet him. You see, he hurt a family member of mine, and I want him to tell everyone why. Heck, I may even hurt him as much as he hurt her,” I told him. I expect Axel’s overconfidence to make him view my threat as a challenge. He won’t let that lie and will want to show me who is superior. It’s the animal way. Jaxon turned and rushed away from me, causing me to snicker. “Damned coward. Just like his Alpha,” I told Kiki. As I carried on my way to the gardens.

It was easy to identify as there was a crowd at the entrance, cheering and blocking my path. There was no way to get through, so I waited at the side, hoping Sam hadn’t arrived yet.

“What’s going on?” I heard an older woman ask someone.

“Some rogue wearing a ceremonial dress sneaked in trying to ruin the Alpha King’s ceremony. The future Luna Queen caught her and is teaching her a lesson.”

‘Rogue? Ceremonial dress?” They couldn’t be referring to Sam, could they? I said, fearing the worst.

“Don’t get angry and ruin this for Sam, not without any proof,” Kiki said, trying to calm me. She was right. There is no chance they are talking about Sam. But even so. All these people are cheering on the assault of a young girl.! was about to push my way through to see who they were talking about. When a man yelled.

“Out of my way,” as he exited through the door. Behind him, he dragged a woman who looked like a prostitute in a skimpy dress and thigh-high pink boots. The gap he made allowed me to move quickly and get inside.

As I entered, it looked like I had walked into another world. All the colors and scents. It was no wonder Sam wanted her ceremony here. It was beautiful. But then I heard a woman scream.

looked across to where it was coming from to see my sister stripped down to her underwear. Being dragged around by her hair. Her face was covered in blood as she begged for her life.

“Sam!” | yelled, my anxiety and fury escalating beyond anything I’d ever thought imaginable. I saw red and heard the screaming and crying. That’s when I knew I had lost control. My inner evil had been unleashed. “Goddess, you may want to help them. You are their only chance.”
