Sam’s POV
My arms were held behind my back, preventing me from moving. A crowd of well-dressed people surrounded me.
“You don’t need Ellie, Sam,” Zola assured me.
“I do. I do.” I sobbed as I disagreed with her.
“Sam, snap out of it!” she yelled at me. “You are not the naive girl you once were. You have grown, you’re stronger, you’re independent. Stand up for yourself. Show them you’re not the pushover you once were.” Zola yelled, and she was right. I’ve come so far since I left the Shadow Pack. I may not yet be as strong as Ellie. However, I will never be if I continue relying on others to fight my battles for me.
Despite being restrained, Zola’s words gave me confidence. “Give him my pendant,” | yelled confidently at Lily, who was standing beside Evelyn. Lily looked at Evelyn and played with her necklace. “She believes my necklace is hers. It’s a family heirloom of mine, passed down for generations. I don’t know what she’s talking about. After all, she’s nothing but a filthy thief. A slut who spreads her legs. That’s some of the many reasons she was banished from the Shadow Pack.” Lily lied to Evelyn. I heard gasps as people around her believed her lies.
“Ah, so that’s where she came from originally. You did right getting rid of her. She’s nothing but trouble,” Evelyn said, looking and pointing at me.
“I’m the one being detained here. You’re the ones causing the trouble. You should not be here, anyway. You wait until my mate gets here.” I yelled at everyone.
“Who the hell would want you, rogue?” Lily yelled, her face twisted in disgust. Everyone around me laughed.
“Oh, someone does. She’s Reagan’s chosen mate,” Evelyn said, before snickering. “They belong together. And when I’m mated to the Alpha King, the pair of them will mysteriously disappear. I will make sure of it.”
I could hear the stitching on my dress popping as I tried to pull myself free from the man holding me. That was when
*I realized. That there was no chance that Evelyn was the Alpha King’s mate. There was no chance she was the woman that Sasha described to me. The woman Sasha admired. Evelyn was an impostor. She has no authority here.
“You’re not the Alpha King’s mate. I don’t believe it.”
Evelyn smiled at me. To which everyone around me called me a liar.
“Why would anyone believe you? I am an Alpha’s daughter. I am one of the elite. I am someone special,” She then smirked, “I’m not only the Alpha King’s chosen mate, but I am also carrying his child,” she said, smiling and touching her stomach. That news shocked me.
“My wolf wants her killed for her infidelity,” Axel announced to everyone out of the blue.
Evenly smiled, “Does it matter to your wolf who kills her?”
She asked.
“He would prefer to do it, as she hurt him. But as long as her blood is spilled, and he gets to witness it. He would be fine,” Axet responded.
“Me. I wasn’t the one having sex with the Shadow Pack bike,” I yelled, remembering Sasha’s insult. Axel growled at me, instructing someone to silence me.
“You’re telling me Caspian is not your mate?” Evelyn yelled, and the laughing continued. “Caspian? The Alpha King is your mate?” Evelyn asked again, throwing her head back, laughing.
“The Alpha King?” Zola questioned.
It all fell into place. “Reagan, Caspian, they all lied to me.
That will be why I was never left alone. So no one could tell me.”
“What, you think you can steal him away from me, rogue?
1 am, and I always will be, the mother of Caspian’s baby.
Which makes me the Luna Queen.” She said, stomping on me again and again. Others joined her, and the next thing I knew, I’m being dragged around by my hair.
I screamed and shouted. But I realized I was alone; no one was coming to help me. Not Reagan or Caspian, they didn’t even care enough to tell me the truth. I may be better off dead; at least then, I won’t be living scared or suffering. I thought as I was being dragged away.
That was what I thought until I heard Ellie screaming out my name. That’s who I need to live for. Ellie. She needs me as much as I need her, and now she is here. They are all dead, and they deserve it.
