Alpha’s Betrayal Luna’s Revenge (Samantha) novel Chapter 78

Sam’s POV

I’m sure it was Ellie I saw. She stood out in the crowd in her yellow dress, shining like a beacon of hope. “Ellie, Ellie!” I screamed to her as I was dragged through a doorway by my hair. But when the door slammed shut, I feared she hadn’t seen or heard me. It didn’t stop crying out for help, though. I thrashed about and screamed, hoping someone, anyone, could help me. But no one heard me, or if they did, they didn’t come to help.

“Oh, shut up. No one is going to help a filthy, pathetic rogue like you,” Evelyn spat at me.

I screamed, even though it felt like my hair was going to be pulled out by whoever was dragging me. “I may be a rogue, but l am a nice person. You’re ugly inside and out.”

“Status counts for everything in our world. No matter how you look. Status means power.” She smirked.

I was dragged until it felt my hair was about to be ripped out of my head. Then, when the night air hit me, I was thrown from some steps and landed on someone. I kept my focus on Evelyn as she walked down the steps toward me, “Besides, even if you were somebody. I am still far superior to you.” She sneered, holding her head high as if she were someone important.

“I’m going to shift and escape. Get ready, it’s going to be fast,” Zola told me. I rolled off whoever I was lying on and adopted a crouching position.

“Now rogue. Don’t try anything stupid. Otherwise, your bestie will pay the ultimate price. Isn’t that right, Johnson?” Evelyn said to the man who stood behind her.

Johnson appeared from behind her, smiling widely, nodding his head.

I looked behind me to see who she was referring to, and my heart sank. The person I was thrown on top of was Sasha. She was unconscious and had dried blood on her face. I crawled over her. “Sasha, wake up,” I cried as I shook her shoulders. But she didn’t respond.

“Now we have your attention. Be a good rogue and get in the car. Before I have a bit of fun with your friend,” Johnson said, smirking. Sasha has always been nice to me, stuck up for me, and was there when I needed her. Did she do it because she was told to do it? I don’t think so. She did it because she liked me. I can’t leave her in the hands of these psychopaths. Not when she is in such a vulnerable state. “Sasha, wake up,” I cried. If she wakes up, at least she can escape.

“Now, rogue. With you being Caspian’s mate, it means I don’t have to be,” Evelyn said with a huge grin on her face.

Johnson grabbed my hair, pulling me up to my feet.” You’re a pretty little thing. It’s a shame you have a bloody ugly body. I could have enjoyed spending a bit of alone time with you.” It was at that point that I remembered I had nothing on except my underwear. “Now be a good rogue and do as you’re told, or I will slit that bitch’s throat, and I don’t care if she is unconscious.” He whispered in my ear. I wanted to scream and take our chances, but nobody had helped me yet. So, I did as I was told, fearing Johnson would follow through on his threat.

I was steered toward a car with tinted windows. “At least they are leaving Sasha behind, alive,”I told Zola, who wasn’t too pleased with my decision to be compliant. I was shoved into the back seat of the car, and a blanket was thrown over me. “No one wants to look at your butchered body,” Johnson said nastily as he pulled out a gun and pointed it at me. “Silver bullets, in case you were wondering. I will shoot you in the legs and let you bleed to death. Slowly and painfully,” The way he spoke made me believe every word that came out of his mouth.

“Kill the bitch,” Evelyn instructed Johnson.

“Evelyn, l am more than happy to kill someone. But she did as you asked. She waited for you to pass through the gate. It’s your stupid fault for being so slow,” Johnson smiled at me. “Well played, rogue. But you pull that shit again. I won’t hesitate to do something horrible to the pair of you,” he said, while tapping the knife on Sasha’s chin.

After driving for a few minutes. “Pull over, Evelyn, and pop the trunk. You can’t drive for shit, and I need to put some distance between us and this place,” he told her.

Doing as instructed, Evelyn pulled over. Johnson then pulled Sasha out of the back seat. “Come on, rogue, you too.” He told me before carrying Sasha and throwing her in the trunk of the car. He then gestured for me to get in.

I did as I was told, pulling Sasha to me as soon as I got inside. U’m sorry,” I told her. The guilt was ripping me apart. She wouldn’t be here if it weren’t for me.

Zola tried to console me. But I knew that if she died. If anything happened to her baby, it would be my fault. Just Like Garth’s death was my fault.”Why do people hate meso much?” I asked myself as I cried. “Why are you doing this to me?” I yelled at the goddess. “What have I ever done to you?”
