Alpha’s Betrayal Luna’s Revenge (Samantha) novel Chapter 86

Ellie POV

It’s been two weeks since I returned home with Sam. It took a while, but eventually she told me everything that had happened to her at the palace. As for Evelyn, she got what she deserved. I had to walk away frequently because I would get angry at how she was treated. As for her mate, Caspian, he doesn’t deserve her. Then there is Reagan. Sam saved his life, she cared for him, and helped when he was at his most vulnerable. He chose to deceive her as much as Caspian did.

Sadly, though, Sam wasn’t the same. Her spirit and liveliness were gone. They destroyed her.

Even on our wolf runs, it was as if she were going through the motions.

She was just a shadow of her former self. Kiki and I were both concerned about her. We were worried so much that I went to William for advice.

“Has something happened to her recently? It sounds like she is depressed,” William said. I couldn’t tell him anything that would result in him asking too many questions. “If Sam is willing to come to me and discuss the matter, I may be able to give her some antidepressants.” He offered.

” I doubt she will do that, William. She is a very private person. Look how long it took her to open up after what happened when she arrived in town.” I told the elderly doctor.

“That poor girl, she has been through so much. I believe it was only with your help, Ellie, that she got through it then. I can’t imagine what would be so bad that it would cause her to be depressed now. If she won’t come to me, perhaps you could distract her somehow. Let her participate in a project helping others, you know, to boost her self-esteem.””The Rogue Camp. You wanted to go back and help them. Take Sam, Kiki suggested.

“It’s a tong way. I wouldn’t want Sam to think I was taking her back to the palace or him.” Reminding Kikithat I met Aaron on the way to the palace.

“If William is right, Sam needs a goal, a purpose. We both know the pack needs help, and it would be a worthwhile distraction. Besides, you could check up on the baby.” Kiki was right on all counts. I thanked William for his time, telling him I would be leaving town for a few days and not to do anything stupid while I was gone. He snickered, probably remembering what he had done.

After making my way back to my clinic, I told Sam about meeting Aaron and about the pack he had created. I told her about delivering Ingrid’s baby and helping his grandma pass on. I told her how I wanted to go and help them again. Then I asked if she would like to come with me. She was a had bit reluctant, but she agreed as she knew she would be safe with me.

That night, we canceled all of my non-essential appointments and brought forward all the essential ones. Then, after I closed the clinic, I gathered as many supplies as I could spare. Filled the trunk of our borrowed car and hit the road.

It was going to take the better part of a day to get there, and with the stops, we arrived early in the morning. The pack went crazy as I pulled in. “They probably think we’re here to attack them,” I told Sam before jumping out of the car.

“Ellie?” Aaron asked, standing in front of his pack. “You nearly caused a riot by turning up like that.” His remark made me snicker, as there wouldn’t be a way of letting Aaron know I was coming. He rushed over and embraced me.

“How are Ingrid and the baby?” I asked him.”Ingrid is well. Baby Elis, he’s gorgeous, Ellie. I couldn’t imagine life without him,” he said, telling me that the baby was named after me.! was happy for him. No matter how little he had, he acted like he had everything because of his family and pack. I was a little jealous. I have everything and yet I have nothing. As I will never have a family of my own.

“I’m flattered, but it wasn’t necessary,” I told him, to which he scoffed.

“You saved me, saved my mate, and most importantly, you helped my grandma pass on peacefully. You are my heroine,” he stated.

Sam climbed out of the car. “This is my sister, Sam. We thought we would come and help for a few days. If you want it,” I told him.

“You are always welcome, Ellie. So, is anyone you bring with you?” He told us, ushering us to his tent. Sam went all gushy when she met baby Elis. Insisting that Ingrid have a nap, so that she would look after the baby.

“That’s the Sam we love to see,” I told Kiki “Perhaps that’s the problem.

Sam thought she was going to have a love that lasted for the rest of her life. She imagined her children and her grandchildren. That situation has changed now that Caspian is no longer in the picture.” It made me sad to think of how Sam was suffering because of him. Then, remembering that Zola also lost her mate and her opportunity for motherhood. What a jerk. If only he had been honest with her.

“If you have a spare tent, Aaron. I will start tending to any injuries people have. But be warned, I am a vet, not a human doctor.”

Sam somehow always ended up in a bad situation. So I understood her logic. It didn’t mean I liked it, though. In the end, I had to respect her decision. It is after all her life. “I won’t be able to get back here for a while,” I warned her. She hugged me.

“Tul be okay. I know I will. I already feel happier. I can’t explain it, Ellie.

But it’s like everyone here is my equal. No one is better than me. I have a chance to rebuild myself.” I smiled, knowing she was about to begin her journey into adulthood.

When I was ready, I discussed it with Aaron, and he was happy for her to remain in the rogue camp. I held her and told her I would miss her.! also told her to be safe, as there would be no one here to help her.” There won’t be a next time, Ellie. I am planning on helping myself if I get into trouble,” she told me. She had to have the chance to grow and thrive; that’s what she needed. “I love you,” I told her just before | left.

For the next week, I worried about Sam constantly. Kiki was the same.

But knowing Sam was happy reminded me that she wanted to do this.

As I went about my duties at work. I found myself for the first time in a long time, being lonely. I missed Sam.

The bell above my front door rang, making me lose my thoughts, as l had no further appointments. I went out half expecting it to be an animal needing emergency care. Only to be faced by someone I thought / would never see again.

“What do you want?” I challenged Reagan.
