Reagan’s POV

“Huh,” Ellie said to the side of me.

“I have come for what’s mine,

Sam yelled at Axel.

“There is nothing in this pack that belongs to you. Rogue.” He said, spitting on the ground.

“Don’t you dare speak to her that way,” Phillip yelled, defending Sam.

“Why? This is my pack, and I will speak to that disgusting rogue any way I please. I sent you packing last time; I will do it again. That’s if I let you live at all. There are only four of you, and I have a whole pack at my disposal; it would be easy to make you disappear.” I went to step forward. But Ellie grabbed my arm.

“This is a fight Sam needs to win for herself. She needs to know she can do it,” Ellie told me. I didn’t like it, but I understood what she was saying. Sam needs closure.

“I was only made a rogue because you wanted to keep your dirty little secret hidden.” Hearing her words, Axel shifted, and there stood his black wolf growling at her. “Did he not tell you, Gunner? Didn’t he tell you he was unfaithful?” Sam yelled at the wolf. Gunner charged toward Sam aggressively. He intended to kill her. Callan was prepared to protect Sam if Gunner got too close. But it wasn’t necessary as Xavier stepped in front of her protectively.

Gunner put his head down, intending to headbutt Xavier. With perfect timing, Xavier pushed Gunner’s head down, causing him to hit the dirt, face-first. Xavier then grabbed Gunner from behind. One arm around his waist and the other around his neck. Gunner thrashed, but Xavier was too skillful and strong. When Xavier was ready, he suddenly threw Gunner away from Sam.”Not today, Alpha,” Xavier yelled. He turned and looked at Sam and knelt before her. “Your Majesty, I am at your service. Whatever you need, just ask.”

Sam cried as she touched his head. “Thank you, Xavier. For everything.”

Gunner got to his feet and took an aggressive stance. “My problem is not with you, Gunner. I want what I came for, and then I will leave.” Gunner shifted, and there stood a naked Axel

“You’re banished. Get your stuff and get out of my pack,” Axel yelled at Xavier. His tantrum made me smile. I would give Xavier a home and a job. One appropriate for someone of his standing. One appropriate for the man who saved the Luna Queen.

Xavier snickered. “As you wish, Axel,” he said with a grin on his face.

“You know that’s a huge mistake, Axel. Xavier is the strongest member

“You may have an Alpha mate and a pack, Lily. But I have something better. I have love and I have a family. Oh, and I didn’t have to betray anyone to get them.” Sam yelled proudly.

Lily threw her head back, laughing. “You’re so pathetic, Samantha. No one would ever love you. That is, except for the old, crippled mate l rejected. I suppose you belong together; after all, you are a perfect match.” Callan’s sadness intensified. As I focused on him, I heard someone laughing.

“Are you as dumb as you look?” Ellie yelled. She then looked at me with a grin on her face. “Your goddess must have a wicked sense of humor.

Mating you with that skank.” She then turned her attention to Lily. “You chose a boy over a man. Reagan could have given you all the money, power, and love you could have ever wanted. But you threw him away like a used tampon,” Ellie said, looking at me. Her words hurt. “Reagan is not Sam’s mate; she’s too good for him. But I would be honored if he were mine. As I know, he will give me anything and everything I could ever want.” Ellie yelled, slipping her hand into mine.

Ellie’s words and actions confused me. But Callan took it as a sign.” Ellie just announced she wanted us as her mate?” Callan excitedly asked me to clarify.

I wanted to make her mine right then and there before she had a chance to think about what she said. But first things first. “1 know you’re lying about what you did with that necklace. Now, where is it?” | yelled with urgency. Because as soon as we get it, we can get out of here. I need to claim my mate.
