Madison remained oblivious to it all. As soon as she walked out, she was drawn to the clothes displayed in the window of a men's clothing store.
A high-end suit in a brilliant shade of blue was on display.
The fabric had a simple but refined weave. As for the overall design, it was neither showy nor lacking in taste. Even the buttons and the lapel pin looked particularly well thought out.
When Madison saw it, Sam was the first person to come to mind. She was sure the suit would look even better on him.
Without a second thought, she walked straight toward the display and into the store.
"Do you have that suit in this size?" Madison then gave the sales assistant Sam's measurements.
The sales assistant immediately told her they did and went to fetch it.
Madison wandered around the store while waiting for the suit. If she was getting it, she needed to get a tie to go with it. She also needed to pick out a pair of cufflinks.
When Johnny and Kaitlyn caught up with her, they saw Madison comparing two different pairs of cufflinks. They exchanged a look of delight.
Ever since Madison and Johnny got together, she had been covering all his living expenses. Now that she was choosing cufflinks, it could only mean she was buying them for him.
"See? Our money wasn't wasted after all. Madison has forgiven you," Kaitlyn whispered.
Raising his chin slightly, Johnny snorted. "I told you so. Madison can't live without me. Throwing her a bone is enough to get her to come crawling back to me. She's always eager to please me."
Johnny was clearly pleased as he watched Madison focus on selecting cufflinks.
He suddenly had a thought. Pulling out his phone, he snapped a photo of Madison's slender back before posting it on his Instagram.
He added the caption, "I knew it. You still love me."
After that, he put the phone away and came up beside Madison. With affection in his eyes, he said, "You've got great taste, babe. Those cufflinks suit me really well."
Turning her head, Madison caught the smugness in his eyes. It made her sneer inwardly.
As if a scumbag like him deserved her gifts…
Nonetheless, Madison chose not to say anything. She handed the two pairs of cufflinks to the sales assistant and said softly, "Please pack both of these in the nicest gift boxes you have."
"Certainly, miss." The sales assistant took the items away to wrap them.
