Madison couldn't help bursting into laughter.

Looking up at Kaitlyn standing beside her, Madison smirked and said scornfully, "We're standing so close to each other. If you can smell it, of course I'd be able to smell it too."

"Maddie…" Kaitlyn widened her eyes, giving her a wounded look.

Unmoved, Madison met her gaze coldly. "Kaitlyn, if I were you, I'd humble myself and behave, instead of coming here spouting nonsense."

The young women who came with Kaitlyn were immediately outraged on her behalf. "How can you speak to our school's it girl like that, Madison?"

"Do you think you can act all high and mighty just because you've latched on to Ms. Burke? Watch out, or we'll tell Johnny that you've been bullying Kaitlyn! If he knew how vicious you are, he'd never like you!"

"Exactly! Kaitlyn's always been considerate and taken great care of you. Now that you've moved up in the world, you're turning on her!"

Madison felt as if she had just heard the biggest joke in the world. She looked quietly at Kaitlyn with no mirth in her eyes.

"Kate, why don't you tell me how you've taken care of me in the past? What did you ever do for me?"

Rendered speechless, Kaitlyn felt slightly panicked. She knew instinctively that if she were to continue arguing, she probably would not achieve the result she wanted.

Instead, Kaitlyn smiled stiffly and tried to gloss things over. "All of you really misunderstood the situation. Alright, Ash. You can stop now. Aren't we going to get in the jacuzzi? Let's go."

Kaitlyn led her friends away and got into the jacuzzi. Madison watched them coldly without stopping them.

However, Janet looked displeased and demanded, "Why didn't you just reveal her true colors just now?"

"If I expose her now, no one would believe me. I would be saying it for nothing. I might as well wait a while longer."

Seeing how annoyed Janet still was, Madison continued, "Don't worry. Things will be over for her by tomorrow."

Janet glanced at her and huffed softly. "It'd better be."
