Dear Ex-wife Marry Me novel (Maja) novel Chapter 2159

Athena leaned back in her seat, saying nothing.

Tyler glanced at her for a moment before reaching over to tuck a strand of hair behind her ear.

She frowned, pulling away, which prompted yet another apology from him.

“Alright, alright, I get it. I screwed up the other day. You know me—I’ve always lived by the motto ‘enjoy today, who knows what’ll happen tomorrow?’ Just come home with me now, and I’ll cut off everyone else for good. Don’t be mad anymore, okay?”

As for whether he'd stray again—well, at least until he got tired of Athena, he wouldn’t.

He pulled her closer, brushing a kiss against her lips.

“I’ll drive. Get some sleep, babe.”

Athena never even opened her eyes. She had no idea how long she’d been asleep; at some point, it felt like she’d even boarded a plane.

Only when they arrived in Greenfield did she slowly open her eyes. Instinctively, she reached for her purse—only to find it missing.

Her face went pale as she turned to Tyler.

“Where’s my bag?”

Tyler had never traveled far with a woman before and hadn’t thought to keep track of her bag.

“Probably left it on the plane or something.”

Without another word, Athena swung her legs out and started walking back.

“Athena, come on. It’s just a bag, isn’t it? I’m exhausted. However many you want, I’ll buy you new ones later.”

Athena ignored him, striding away purposefully.

Annoyed but resigned, Tyler followed.

Athena spoke with the airport staff, who told her the bag would be brought over soon.

She sat down to wait, while Tyler grew more and more impatient. He’d planned to meet friends for drinks tonight. The TV series Athena had worked on had just aired, breaking ratings records on its first day. Her character had been written out early because of the scandal, but it hadn’t stopped the show from becoming a hit.

As the screenwriter, Tyler was expected at the celebration dinner.

He was already half an hour late, and there was no way Athena’s bag would turn up in time.

“Come on. We’ll pass by a designer store on the way—I’ll buy you a new one.”

Normally, Tyler lived for nights like this, but tonight every drink tasted bitter.

He’d promised himself he’d come home and finally have a real relationship. Instead, the two of them had already had another fight before even making it back.

Athena used to be so easygoing—now it felt like she was resisting him at every turn.

He set down his glass and rubbed his temples.

The actresses at the table all knew Tyler’s reputation—if a woman was pretty and put-together, he never said no. A hand slid slowly onto his thigh.

Any other night, he’d have leaned in and kissed her. Tonight, he just felt annoyed and brushed her hand away.

Athena was being ridiculous—getting mad over a bag.

He thought it over, pulled out his phone, and wired her a hundred thousand dollars with a short message:

Buy yourself a new bag.

Athena didn’t respond.

Irritated, Tyler slammed his phone down on the table and started drinking again.
