"I've already talked to Abner. He's agreed to send her abroad, but Maggie's gone missing. Can't find her for now."
"Well, that's more like it."
Marlon read the message and couldn't help but chuckle.
Athena arrived swiftly, though her expression suggested she wasn't thrilled to be there.
She immediately noticed the man beside Marlon, a very refined-looking guy with gold-rimmed glasses—a real picture of success.
Athena had a nagging feeling she'd seen him somewhere before.
Marlon stood up and introduced, "This is my good friend, Murphy."
Athena's mind sparked with recognition. What a coincidence! He was the star pupil of the hypnosis master she once visited. The master had recently retired, leaving Murphy to carry on his legacy.
Feigning ignorance, Athena smiled warmly, "Hello."
Murphy, however, recognized her immediately. They had interacted briefly in the past, and even then, Murphy's skills in hypnosis were impressive. Yet, he could never hypnotize her. The master had said her inner resolve was too strong, almost like a spiritual burden.
During their month-long training, Murphy had confessed his feelings for her, promising to wait until she could forget the person occupying her heart.
Athena maintained her smile and shook Murphy's hand. "Hello."
Murphy's eyes flickered with emotion, but he quickly masked it with a gentle smile. "Marlon told me you have some unresolved issues. I'm here to help you sort them out."
By "sort them out," he really meant finding a time to hypnotize her.
Athena glanced at Marlon, who was seated comfortably, and responded coolly, "Thanks for your concern."
Unaware of their history, Marlon smirked, "Have a seat, sis."
Whenever he called her "sis," it carried a teasing familiarity.
After Athena settled down, she overheard Marlon instructing the chef to prepare a lavish dinner for the evening.
Marlon's phone rang, prompting him to step away for the call.
Murphy seized the opportunity to chat with Athena, though no one knew the details of their conversation.
When Marlon returned, Athena was sprawled on the couch, asleep—a clear sign she'd been hypnotized.

The readers' comments on the novel: Dear Ex-wife Marry Me novel (Maja)
Author, would you story about Ryan settling down and another story on Eric regaining his body and memories back from Patrick, and Eric also settling down as I find it so disheartening for him to have gone through what he went through at the research institute, and I'll like for him to get his "golden boy" life back though, not at the detriment of Ian....
When will the author update to finish Beck's story? What about Dylan and Tyler's love lives? Also, I'll like the author to write on Wilma and Elvis ending up together as she was quite persistent in pursuing him. And Shawn's story, Cornelia Sullivan and Omar Casson. Also, a little write-up on Jeff (Ian's assistant) love life, too. Thanks, author for updating....
When will get update?...
What is wrong that the author has not updated this novel in over a month or is there somewhere else that I can continue reading the novel from chapter 1951 upwards? Do tell, please. Thanks....
