"It tastes amazing! If you guys are up for it, I can take you out for some tonight," Lindsay suggested, her voice full of warmth.

Her little brother's eyes widened with excitement, but he hesitated, unsure if he should grab her sleeve in his enthusiasm, fearing he might dirty her clothes.

Lindsay half-expected him to ask about some fancy delicacy, but instead, he popped the question, "Sis, is it tough for you out there?"

He couldn't fathom how she managed to have so much money, enough to treat them to a nice meal and even order burgers for them.

Lindsay chuckled, ruffling his hair gently. "It's not tough at all. I just happened to find a really good boss this time."

Reassured, her brother returned to devouring his burger with gusto.

Lindsay was only home for today and would have to leave again tomorrow. She didn't want to disrupt Athena's plans, so the special meal would have to wait until the evening.

After stuffing themselves to the brim, the kids finally relented, their bellies round and full. Her brother, however, kept eating until he was on the verge of being sick.

Lindsay swiftly took the food from his hands, "Didn't I tell you to stop when you're full? Why don't you listen?"

"I’m just worried there won’t be another meal like this," he confessed.

"There will be plenty more, trust me. I'll make sure you get all the burgers you want," she promised.

"Okay, sis. I believe you," he replied, his mouth full.

Lindsay smiled and placed the leftovers in the fridge. It was a small, second-hand fridge, but since she was home, she decided to upgrade both the fridge and the TV.

The old TV was tiny, forcing the kids to crowd around it. But now, with the new 100-inch screen, they could watch comfortably from the couch. The children were overjoyed, even the youngest ones were clambering excitedly over the sofa.
