Lindsay didn’t say a word, but her emotions were as clear as day to Athena. It was obvious Lindsay didn’t want to come out anymore.
As the visit was wrapping up, Lindsay suddenly leaned in close to Athena and whispered something hard to admit.
"Athena, I thought I didn’t care about him."
Athena froze, her eyes stinging with unshed tears.
Lindsay waved goodbye, following the officer back inside.
Alone at the police station, Athena felt as if her heart was being gnawed by a thousand ants. Nausea hit her, but when she bent over, all that came out was a bit of bitter bile.
Taking a deep breath, she looked up at the sky, doubting her vengeful resolve for the first time.
Was this really the path she wanted to continue down?
Just as the doubt crept in, her phone buzzed. Marlon was calling to check on her.
Her voice was raspy, and though she wanted to speak, it was as if her lips were sealed shut, unable to utter a word.
Marlon was busy on his end. The fugitive they were after had finally been spotted, and he was on his way to catch him. But he was worried about Athena, which is why he called.
"I'm outside the police station. The killer is my friend, Marlon. I started remembering things about us. We were both bullied in high school, but I can't remember who did it."
Marlon knew. The bully was Maggie, and Maggie was already dead.
He softened his voice, wanting to comfort her.
But before he could, Athena broke down into tears again.
"Marlon, I suddenly want to see you so much. Why have you been away for so many days? I miss you. It feels like my heart is about to burst."

Author, would you story about Ryan settling down and another story on Eric regaining his body and memories back from Patrick, and Eric also settling down as I find it so disheartening for him to have gone through what he went through at the research institute, and I'll like for him to get his "golden boy" life back though, not at the detriment of Ian....
When will the author update to finish Beck's story? What about Dylan and Tyler's love lives? Also, I'll like the author to write on Wilma and Elvis ending up together as she was quite persistent in pursuing him. And Shawn's story, Cornelia Sullivan and Omar Casson.
