Athena thought he might be disgusted, but suddenly she felt him intensify his grip.
"Go on, tell me more about him. It only makes this more exciting for me."
"Let me go!"

Marlon wished he could just end her right there.
Athena had always thought of him as a beast, incapable of human emotions. But since her back was to him, she couldn't see the fleeting look of hurt in his eyes.
Even if she had seen it, she'd probably just laugh cruelly.
The night dragged on like that.
The following morning, Athena was jolted awake by a splash of cold water.
She opened her eyes to see Marlon holding a cigarette, a smirk playing on his lips. "Awake?"
Athena suddenly recalled the last moment before she passed out. His actions had been so wild, it left her trembling in pain until she fainted.
Even now, she felt the sharp ache of it.
He toyed with a shiny silver whistle in his hands, lips curled in a sly smile. "If you're awake, let's move. We've got a long way to go."
Athena was trembling all over, not just from the disgust she felt but from sheer exhaustion and pain.
"I can't walk."
Taking even a single step felt like she might collapse.
She hadn't had proper rest for days.
Marlon stepped closer, gripping her chin and tapping her face with the whistle.
"Are you playing coy? Too bad, I'm not Kerwin. I won't be coddling you."
Athena furrowed her brows, puzzled by his words. He seemed to enjoy bringing up Kerwin.
She stayed seated on the bed, reluctant to move, even contemplating that dying here might be preferable to more of his torment.
