From His Wife to His Uncle's Wife novel Chapter 186

Juliana’s eyes went wide. “What are you even talking about?”

“She’s my daughter with Benjamin. She has nothing to do with you.” Her voice shook, but Patrick just gave her a cold look.

“Really? Then how come the DNA test says Eleanor and Benjamin aren’t related at all?”

Patrick leaned in, his tone getting sharper. “Look, I’m not here to play games. I need money. Since she’s our daughter, she should help take care of her old man. I heard she got divorced. Do you have any idea how much she walked away with?”

Juliana’s heart raced. She was shocked that he’d come so prepared, but at least he seemed focused on Eleanor, not her.

“There’s no way I can get close to her, not with all the security at her company. Why don’t you go ask her for ten million? Show her dad some respect.”

Juliana felt her head spinning. “Patrick, have you lost your mind?”

She didn’t even have ten million herself. Where was she supposed to get that kind of money? He made it sound like pocket change.

“If you don’t have it, go ask her. She’s loaded.”

That just made Juliana angrier. “She’s not even speaking to me anymore. She told me I’m not her mother. She cut me off, for good.”

“If you don’t believe me, go ask her yourself.”

Patrick just smirked. He didn’t buy it for a second.

“I don’t care how you do it. She’s our daughter. It’s only right for kids to help out their parents. If you don’t do it, I’ll go after your son.”

He couldn’t touch the older one, but he could definitely get to the younger one. He’d heard Jared was weak, still recovering from surgery. How could that sick kid stand up to him? Patrick never wanted to admit he was in bad shape himself.

Jared was Juliana’s soft spot.

Her eyes burned with fury. “If you touch my son, Patrick, I swear I’ll destroy you.”

People nearby turned to stare. Juliana took a shaky breath and lowered her voice. “I told you, even if I ask Eleanor, she won’t give me a penny.”

“How do you know if you don’t try?”

“You have three days to get the money. If you don’t, I’ll make trouble for your son.”

Juliana watched as he walked away, her vision blurring with tears. How had she ended up tied to a man like this? What had she done in her past life to deserve it?

Eleanor just nodded. She didn’t feel like arguing.

“What did you want to talk about? I have plans later tonight.”

Juliana started piling food onto Eleanor’s plate, something she only did when she wanted something. Eleanor just watched, expressionless. Whatever her mom wanted, it was probably big.

After dinner, Juliana brought out Eleanor’s favorite fruit. “Take these home. I know you love them.”

“Just say it,” Eleanor said, already running out of patience.

Juliana gave a nervous laugh. “I heard your case with Peter is over. The divorce went through?”

Eleanor’s lips curled into a half-smile. “Yeah.”

Juliana continued, “Peter’s pretty well off. Even just your share of the assets should be more than enough for you. Eleanor, your uncle wants to invest in something, but he’s a bit short. Could you lend him ten million?”

Eleanor wasn’t surprised. It always came back to money.
