From His Wife to His Uncle's Wife novel Chapter 367

“Okay, got it. I’ll talk to Peter Clarkson about what’s going on with Olga. And about that medication you mentioned, just give me the address and I’ll have you send it to me so I can take a look.”

“Of course, Ms. Rolland. I’ll send it right away!”

After hanging up, Eleanor reached out for Max’s hand. “Max, Olga and I aren’t close, but she’s still my daughter. I really don’t know why she’s been so down lately, but I have a feeling it might have something to do with Jessie Goff.”

“Don’t worry, and please, don’t get jealous. I’m not planning to talk to Peter Clarkson myself. Could you pass the message on for me?”

Max had already prepared himself to go see Peter Clarkson with Eleanor. Hearing her request, he broke into a smile. “Sure. As long as you don’t think I’m sticking my nose where it doesn’t belong.”

Honestly, whenever he thought about Eleanor having any kind of contact with Peter, jealousy just ate at him.

“You’re not meddling. I’m asking you for help,” Eleanor said softly.

Max and Eleanor decided to head home first, while Linden and Yolanda wanted to stay a few more days. The day after they got back, Eleanor received the bottle of medication. She handed it off to an old classmate for some lab tests. While they waited for the results, Max called Peter Clarkson.

Peter happened to be with Rebecca Brain. When he saw Max’s number on the screen, he frowned, a little confused, but picked up anyway.

“Hello, Max.”

“I’m just calling because the teachers at Olga’s daycare noticed she hasn’t been herself lately, and for some reason, the call came to my wife. My wife’s pregnant. You have custody, so no matter how busy you are, you need to pay more attention to your daughter.”

Max didn’t bother with small talk. He just let Peter have it, point blank. Peter’s expression darkened.

“Why didn’t Eleanor call me herself?”

“Olga is her child too!”

Max let out a short laugh. “Your daughter was the one who said she didn’t want Eleanor as her mom. She’s just respecting that. Plus, my wife is pregnant and I’m a jealous guy. I don’t want her talking to her ex-husband all the time. That’s fair, right?”

“If anything like this comes up again, you can call me directly. There’s no need to bother Eleanor.”
