From His Wife to His Uncle's Wife novel Chapter 199

“You have two options. Second, I’m giving you thirty minutes to write a five-hundred-word confession. It needs to include every detail of what you did. When you’re done, sign it, press your thumbprint on the page, and read it out loud in front of the camera. I’ll keep the evidence. If you ever pull something like this again, I’ll go straight to the police.”

“Pick one.”

She never got to choose back then. Now she was giving Juliana a choice—not out of any leftover mother-daughter feelings, but because she felt bad for Jared. He had just recovered. She didn’t want him to have a criminal for a mother.

When Jared was grown up, Eleanor would make sure Juliana paid for everything.

“I... I’m not picking.” Juliana shook her head frantically. “I refuse. I’m not choosing either.”

“Eleanor, how can you be so heartless? Do you really want to see your own mother in prison?”

Eleanor’s smile was icy. “If you don’t pick, I’ll take it as you’re choosing the first one.”

She pulled out her phone and, right in front of Juliana, pressed 911. “You have thirty seconds to decide.”

“Twenty-nine...”

“Twenty-eight...”

“Twenty-seven...”

“...”

“Ten...”

“Nine...”

“That’s enough, stop!” Juliana clapped her hands over her ears, desperate to block out the countdown. “I’ll confess, I’ll write the confession, alright? Is that what you want?”

Eleanor’s lips curled up slightly. “Good. I’ll have someone watch you write it. Don’t even think about twisting the story or pulling any tricks, or I’ll hand you over to the police right away.”

Eleanor fell quiet. Honestly, quitting was a good idea. Smoking was never healthy. She gave a warm, grateful smile. “Thank you.”

Thirty minutes later, Max’s assistant came out with the confession video and the signed paper.

Eleanor tucked the evidence away, then looked at Max. “Let her go. I doubt she’ll try anything again.”

“Alright.” Max had promised never to interfere with her choices.

He smiled, then switched topics. “I called your doctor earlier. He said you’re good to leave the hospital tomorrow.”

“So, Mrs. Clarkson, do you have time to come with me to the registry office?”

Max’s assistant was floored, eyes wide. His boss was getting married?

Eleanor just smiled, gentle and sure. “Yeah. I’m free.”
