Goodbye My Arrogant Ex (Marguerite and Leonard) novel Chapter 294

“If you really think about it, if you tell her all of this, she might not be able to handle having her secrets exposed like that. This is something she’s carried like a scar, and now you’ve just torn it open all over again.”

“She may never fully heal from that wound, but at least before, she could get through daily life without it bothering her. Now, after you brought it up, the pain is fresh again. She’s going to suffer.”

Marguerite, watching from the outside, saw the situation with a certain clarity. She understood Hogan’s reasons for acting the way he did.

“She probably found out about this all at once—it’s no wonder she broke down. Right now, she can’t accept what you’ve told her. I think a lot of what she said was out of anger, maybe just a knee-jerk reaction.”

“And think about it: when you first learned the truth, you needed time to process it too. You couldn’t accept it all at once either. I really think you should give her some space.”

As an outsider, Marguerite honestly didn’t know what words could truly help. It was impossible for her to feel Hogan’s pain completely.

When Hogan discovered the truth, it had been a tough choice for him too. But he’d come to terms with it—he’d decided not to let it ruin what they had, and he thought he was ready for whatever came next.

Yet, just as he was preparing to face everything with courage, she wanted to break up, and she was resolute about it.

He couldn’t accept it, not right away. It felt like there was nothing he could do.

“I never really wanted to let her go,” Hogan said quietly. “If I did, I wouldn’t be this miserable all the time. When things calm down, I’ll find a chance to talk to her properly. I think she just couldn’t handle it all today.”

She was still worried about her brother and didn’t want him to leave just yet.

“Alright.” Hogan nodded, still lost in thought. He wanted his sister’s company tonight. With most things in life, he could always find a way through, but when it came to matters of the heart, he felt completely inexperienced.

Not long after, Leonard came home. He saw the two siblings together and, unsurprised, quickly gathered what had happened between them.

“Leonard, what do you think we should do now?” Marguerite asked.
