Goodbye My Arrogant Ex (Marguerite and Leonard) novel Chapter 295

Marguerite turned her attention to him, fully aware that Leonard was someone who always had his own ideas, no matter the situation.

“I agree, we should give her some time. Once she’s calmed down, she might see things differently. Try to find a chance for the two of you to talk it out,” she suggested gently.

Leonard could tell that Hogan still cared deeply about this woman—about their relationship. If he hadn’t, he wouldn’t have chosen to stay with her after everything that had happened.

Since there were real feelings on both sides, Leonard believed there was nothing that couldn’t be resolved. If they could just be honest with each other and move beyond the shadows of the past, things might turn out much better.

“Honestly, I bear some responsibility for all this,” Leonard admitted. “If I hadn’t looked into that woman, maybe none of this would have happened. Maybe the two of you would have been fine. Let’s just pretend that incident never happened.”

Since the breakup, Leonard had felt a pang of regret. He realized he was getting involved in more and more issues that weren’t truly his. Matters of the heart, after all, weren’t like anything else.

Hogan shook his head. “There’s no such thing as a perfect secret. If we got married one day and I found out about this later, it would hurt even more—it could really destroy us. At least now, when we’re just starting out, we can deal with it. Even if we do break up one day, this is something we could handle. If we run into disagreements, I won’t have regrets.”

He truly believed that knowing the truth now was for the best, and that it wasn’t too late to fix things. Love couldn’t be forced.

“I feel the same way,” Marguerite added. “If you hadn’t noticed something was off, neither of us would have seen that woman’s true colors. We wouldn’t have known what she was really up to.”

“That’s why it’s best to confront these problems head-on,” Leonard said. “That way, we can all have some peace of mind.”

To her relief, Hannah answered.

“Hannah, I’ve heard what happened between you and Hogan. If you’re free, I’d like to come by and have a chat,” Marguerite said.

“Marguerite, I’m not feeling well today. Maybe another time?” Hannah’s reluctance was obvious.

“Hannah, I’m actually downstairs at your place right now. If you’re up for it, could you buzz me in? I know you’re not at the studio today.”

Marguerite had already stopped by the dance studio earlier, but the staff told her Hannah hadn’t been in.
