Goodbye My Arrogant Ex novel Chapter 35

“This has nothing to do with you. Get out of the way.”

Benjamin shoved Laura so hard she fell to the floor. Seizing the moment, he grabbed Marguerite’s wrist in a vice-like grip, the bones grinding audibly as if he meant to crush them.

“Benjamin, let go of me!” Marguerite bit down on her lower lip, wincing in pain as she tried to wrench herself free.

“Marguerite, you know how much this project means to me. I need you to go talk to Mr. Green and clear things up. Just this once—help me out.”

“If you’re willing, I’ll give you thirty percent of the profits. And I’ll forget everything that happened with my mother. No strings attached.”

Benjamin tried to pull her into his arms, patting her back with feigned tenderness. His face softened into an expression of desperate sincerity.

But Marguerite’s icy gaze was full of nothing but contempt and disgust. Instinctively, she shrank away, refusing to let him touch her.

She sneered, pushing him off with every ounce of strength she had. “Keep dreaming.”

Her voice was calm but unyielding, leaving no room for negotiation.

“Marguerite, I’ll give you half the profits—anything you want, just say yes!”

Benjamin was frantic, desperate, like a cornered animal. Pleading with Marguerite was his last hope.

“Your promises mean as little to me as your love, Benjamin. I don’t need any of it! Open your eyes and take a good look! I’m not that foolish girl who used to hang on your every word, whose whole day could be ruined by you. Not anymore.”

“From now on, we’re finished—done for good. The only thing I want from you is to disappear from my life. The farther you go, the better!”

Marguerite bit her lip, her jaw set, every word ringing with icy finality.
