Goodbye My Arrogant Ex (Marguerite and Leonard) novel Chapter 355

Even now, with their mother on her deathbed, all they could think about was the company. It was their lifeline. Aaron had leeched off it for years, contributing nothing while living a life of luxury. If his mother died, Leonard would be the legal heir, and the money tap would be shut off for good. He was terrified of what would happen if she passed away before he could secure his future.

“I don’t need either of you here. Leave,” Mrs. Murphy said, her voice filled with exhaustion. She didn’t have the strength for another argument. If it weren’t for them, she wouldn’t be in this state. They both knew about her heart condition, yet they never once showed genuine concern. What was the point of keeping sons like that around? Their empty words meant nothing. She was determined to leave her legacy to someone worthy.

In her eyes, Leonard was more of a grandson to her than her own blood. He had grown up by her side, shaped by her guidance. She may have failed with her own sons, but she had succeeded with him. He was brilliant, and more importantly, he was devoted to her. Since her illness, he had single-handedly managed the company, steering it to new heights and earning the respect of every employee.

Her own sons, on the other hand, only ever thought about how to line their own pockets. They would gut the company without a second thought. She could never entrust her life’s work to men with no sense of responsibility. It would be a betrayal of everything she had ever worked for.
