Seeing how anxious he was, Marguerite didn't refuse. Truthfully, she was just as desperate—she wanted this ordeal to be over as soon as possible.
"Fine. Let's go to the office."
They arrived at the company together.
The moment Benjamin caught sight of them, he lost control. Charging straight toward Marguerite's office, he kicked the door open with a loud crash.
"Benjamin, have you lost your mind? What are you doing here, throwing another tantrum?" Marguerite's tone was icy cold.
"Marguerite, I know you have issues with me, but if you have something to say, say it to my face! Why did you have to stoop so low and sabotage Fiona, get her expelled from university?"
"I can't believe I never saw how devious you are. You're ruthless—absolutely heartless! I must have been blind to ever trust you."
Benjamin's eyes blazed with fury, every muscle trembling with rage.
Marguerite couldn't help but let out a sharp laugh. "You have the nerve to storm in here after you two stole my work to cheat your way into that degree? I assumed you’d figured it out already. Turns out you only just found out. Makes me wonder if you even care about her at all."
The way she looked at him, clearly enjoying his misery, only made Benjamin angrier.
"Marguerite, don’t push it. I’m willing to let this go—but only if you clear things up with the university and apologize to Fiona, in person!"
"If you didn’t want this outcome, you shouldn’t have done what you did. She brought this on herself—don’t blame anyone else." There was no way Marguerite would apologize, much less try to fix things with the school.
"Marguerite, you’re cold-blooded—a real viper. Seeing everyone end up like this, are you happy now?"
"What, you want to go a round?" Hogan sized him up, recognizing the challenge in Benjamin’s stance. He was a kickboxing champ—what did he have to fear? Honestly, he’d been waiting for an excuse to teach Benjamin a lesson for ages.
"Bring it on!" Benjamin couldn’t hold back any longer; he swung his fist, but before he knew what hit him, Hogan countered, knocking him flat with a single punch to the jaw.
The room spun. Benjamin lay dazed on the floor for several minutes before he came to.
"Let’s see if you can walk out of here today," Hogan sneered.
Benjamin’s first instinct was to fight back, but he never stood a chance. The moment he tried to get up, Hogan pinned him easily.
It took barely any effort for Hogan to leave Benjamin a crumpled mess on the carpet. Someone like him wasn’t even worth breaking a sweat over.
