Goodbye My Arrogant Ex novel Chapter 94

He’d also mentioned that Marguerite’s patent had genuinely piqued his interest.

Time passed quickly.

A week slipped by in the blink of an eye. Marguerite spent those days at home with her parents, cherishing every moment—yet soon enough, she had to get back to work; there were still so many things waiting for her attention.

Mrs. Taylor lingered in the doorway, reluctant to part from her daughter.

“Mom, if you miss me, I’ll come home to visit. But right now, there’s a mountain of work I have to deal with. I can’t stay any longer, but we can call each other every day.”

Marguerite’s heart ached as she spoke. She wished she could spend more time with her parents, to make up for all the years apart and the regrets that had piled up. But right now, there was no way. The company needed her—Laura was competent, but there were problems only Marguerite could handle.

Besides, Laura had already taken on so much lately. Marguerite couldn’t let her shoulder all the burdens alone.

“Marguerite, promise me you’ll take care of yourself when you go back. Don’t get so busy you forget to eat. If anything comes up, ask Hogan for help—he’ll always be there for you. Don’t try to do everything by yourself.”

“I will, Mom. You and Dad should head home now.”

Marguerite gave her mother one last, lingering look, her heart heavy with reluctance.

Leonard had already arrived to pick her up. The two of them planned to visit his grandmother before returning to the city.

Ever since the first time she’d met Marguerite, Leonard’s grandmother had taken a real liking to her. She asked after her nearly every day, always hoping Marguerite would visit more often.

So no matter how busy things got, Marguerite felt she had to go see her. The old lady looked forward to their visits so much; how could she disappoint her?
