I Owe the Tyrant Four Little Heirs novel Chapter 139

“Thank you, Dad,” Niamh said.

“Did Ffion cause any trouble while I was gone?” she asked as she unpacked.

Cassian was silent for a moment. “Ffion and I are divorced.”

“What?” Niamh stared at him in shock.

After more than twenty years, their marriage was over? Was it because of her?

Cassian seemed to read her mind. “Niamh, it has nothing to do with you,” he said quickly. “You know that even without you, we would have ended up here eventually.”

Niamh knew what Ffion was like. Cassian was a good man who had the misfortune of marrying a woman like her.

“Dad, don’t worry. I’ll take care of you from now on,” she said. “And you should come live with us.”

Cassian nodded.

Niamh was overjoyed. For years, while she was raising the children on her own, she had constantly worried about Cassian, afraid that Ffion would bully him. Now, they could all live together and look after one another. Things were finally looking up.

...

The next morning, Niamh woke up at her usual time of six o’clock to make breakfast, only to find that Cassian had already prepared it.

“Niamh, from now on, I’ll make breakfast. You should sleep in a little longer,” he said.

Aurelia rubbed her eyes and stopped crying.

“What did you bring me, Mommy?” she asked, taking the box.

“It’s a phone,” Niamh said.

At the word “phone,” Aurelia threw the box on the floor and started crying again. “I don’t want a phone! I want my Barbie doll! You promised you’d bring me a Barbie doll, Mommy! You broke your promise! You don’t love me anymore! Waaah!”

Just then, the other three children came into the room.

“Aurelia, why are you crying so early in the morning? You’re so loud,” Keir said, playfully ruffling her curly hair.
